Hears your sign!
We can train for many things in life to improve our skills. I know in certain jobs you have defensive tactics, that help you defend yourself and others from harm of some sort. You may not agree with their strategy and you don’t have too, you just have to follow their policy if you are going to succeed. We prepare our minds to train for harm against us and others with physical preparation, with different moves, holds and takedowns. This is not a bad thing, it can save your life on and off the job. We will go to specialized training, get certification for things we may or may not use, but you got a certificate. Looks good on a resume, looks good hanging on your wall, but where is it taking you? But let me ask you a question that concerns me more than your preparation for your job. If Christ were to call you home tonight, what would He say to you when you stood before Him? Well done good and faithful servant, enter into the joys of the Lord, or would he say, depart from me you worker of iniquity, I never knew you and be cast out into outer darkness, that place called hell, eternal separation from God. There will never be another altar call for you, there will never be another witness come into your life to tell you about the love of Christ. But Lucifer, who was thrown out of heaven, with a third of the angels that followed Him, can tell you all about it for eternity, but you will never get to experience it. Pride got Lucifer and these angels thrown out of heaven, because he, Lucifer, wanted to be on the thrown of God. Pride will take you down dark roads if you’re not careful. If pride got Lucifer and a third of the angels thrown out, why do you think God will let us in, if our pride is keeping us from surrendering to God?
Revelation 3:14-20 KJV
And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God; [15] I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. [16] So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth. [17] Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked: [18] I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see. [19] As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent. [20] Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
We are so spoiled as a nation that we many times do not recognize a need for Christ in our life. We go to church an hour or two a week and think, I have honored God. Really, is that all it takes. Our churches have become so programmed to the order of them and we will not do it differently for the fear of offending someone. I have watched a church shrivel up and just kinda make it on a prayer, just hoping there is enough to pay the light bill or insurance. Until you have been in that spot, it is not about you agreeing with the order of service, it is about you selling out to God and putting your nose to the grind, in prayer and dedication. People start looking at their watches or squirming if it goes longer than usual. I think it is so amazing of people that attend a Sunday service and the Pastor ask, if you need prayer come and let us pray for you. We would rather leave and beat the other church to the buffet, than take our problems to God for healing. I was hungry. Yeah, so if you can have a God moment, is 30 more minutes gonna take you out? That is sad. Well, I worry about what others will think. Yeah, just say anxiety is eating you alive and you are trying so hard to hide it, but if God is tapping you on the shoulder saying go, get prayer, I will take this from you. Do we need an audible voice to tell us to get right or do we need a sign? Well, your sign is you don’t have it figured out, you are carrying burdens maybe no one knows about or they do. This is your sign to go and fall at the feet of Jesus and cast all your care in Him, for He careth for you.
Matthew 11:28-30 KJV
Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. [29] Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. [30] For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
Here is your sign! Jesus is hollering from the heavens and yet the church is not listening, many times for the sake of keeping people happy.
