To the friends and family of Main Street Baptist Church,

As we step into a new year, our hearts do so carrying both gratitude and grief.

This year changed us when the Lord unexpectedly called our pastor, Mike, home. We still feel the ache of his absence and reflect on his preaching, his prayers, and his care for this flock he loved so faithfully. And yet, even in our sorrow, we confess what Scripture teaches us: our God is sovereign, good, and wise in all His ways.

We do not grieve as those without hope. The same God who numbers our days also holds His people fast by grace alone. Mike’s life and ministry were not cut short by chance or chaos, but fulfilled according to the perfect will of our Heavenly Father.

As we look ahead, let us continue to pray earnestly for the Grady family, who we love so deeply, that the Lord would surround them with His peace, and that they would know His nearness in this season of loss.

As we enter this new year, we do so with confidence, not in ourselves, but in the faithfulness of God and His plans for His church. The Lord is still at work among us, shaping us, growing us, and calling us to trust Him more deeply. Christ remains the Chief Shepherd, and He will continue to build and preserve His church according to His perfect will. By His grace, we move into this year with hope, unity, and a renewed commitment to follow Him wherever He leads.
