“Enter his gates with thanksgiving; go into his courts with praise. Give thanks to him and praise his name.” Proverbs 100:4. We loved worshiping together yesterday. This week, we encourage you to enter the week with praise. When we lead with worship, it sets our hearts in a posture of surrender and invites God to have his way in our everyday life. Inviting his presence is the best first step to a joy-filled life.

This morning was a beautiful time of worship together, and Pastor Cal took us on a deep dive into Mary and Martha's experiences in the presence of Jesus. While Martha's focus started in the right place, it gradually shifted. Her hospitality came from a place of burden rather than from a desire to be truly present for others. On the other hand, Mary sitting at the feet of Jesus was incredibly countercultural, as she took the place of a disciple - something exclusive to men at the time. Jesus, acknowledging and affirming her actions, made a bold statement about access to discipleship. He is for all of us. Being present for others and having the heart of a servant is important, but so is simply sitting at the feet of Christ and offering Him our undivided attention. There is a time and a place for both things, but our hearts should remain centered on Christ for each.

Matthew 19:14 says, “But Jesus said, “Let the children come to me. Don’t stop them! For the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to those who are like these children.” We love seeing kids in service on Sundays! Jesus is for your entire family! Next weekend is a 5th Sunday and will be a family service! We can't wait!

Discipleship happens in the middle of the ordinary. Jesus doesn't wait for us to "be ready." He finds us in regular life and changes us where we are. He doesn't ask us to change before following Him. As we follow Him, we are formed.
