You can tell summer is coming to a close when Kidder Music has its Choral Reading for church choir directors and singers, showcasing new music from the publishers. Don has only missed one time in 34 years, and that was the year he had his triple bypass. They pick 31 songs, and everyone sings through them, sight-reading, for almost 3 hours with a break in the middle. Pepper always goes with him to give him a choir member's perspective on the difficulty. Beth Stalker is the choir director at First English, so they always see her, and this year the reading was there. Pepper won the drawing for the non-choir directors. It is a $ 25 gift card from Kidder's that we can use for new music!
