Zambia Missions was started in 2003 by David and Lorie French as a means of funding holistic missions in Zambia. Among other things, donations to Zambia Missions support a Leadership Training school in Zambia (Mapepe Bible College) to train church leaders in holistic ministry, an orphan-care ministry (Kerin's Kids), an outreach ministry that conducts village workshops in Agriculture, Nutrition and

Food-Preservation, Preventive Healthcare, etc. In addition, Zambia Missions provides funding for Medical Missions providing optical, dental and general medical care; and assistance in starting/operating community schools in local villages. Zambia Missions works in partnership with Zambia Project, Inc (and other humanitarian organizations) to fund these various ministries.

Our expenses have outpaced our incoming support for the past 4 months. This is due to the drought that has forced us to buy an expensive generator and pay $700 per week in fuel to pump water. We are also trying to complete the Vocational Training Center (cf. below) and Piggery by start of the next schoolyear (Jan). Both are URGENTLY needed.
If you can help, you can do so by going to our webpage (www.zambiamissions.org) and clicking on the orange donate button or you can mail a check to Zambia Missions, 1700 Goodman Rd E., Southaven, MS 38671.

Three years ago our students at Daybreak started a church in a new township located 5 miles from our campus. Land was acquired and the church (on their own) is now building a temporary structure for the church (with plans to build a permanent building one day). Here are pictures from their recent efforts to build this temporary church building.

Zambia is experiencing major problems this year due to the lack of rain from the last rainy season. The water level in Lake Kariba is so low that Zambia cannot generate sufficient amount of electricity for the country. Hence, they began implementing power sharing back in May/June (i.e., rotate service to limited areas while other areas go without power).

In July we were getting electricity for about 8 hours a day. This past month it dropped to 1-2 hours per day. About 3 days ago, we were told there would be no service (electricity) anywhere in the country for the next 15 days!

One of our former students (graduate) recently conducted an evangelistic campaign in the Nyanga area (near the border of Zimbabwe). There was a great turn out as people came from Zambia and Zimbabwe. Osberty says that the people are really thirtsy for the word of God in this area.

We hosted our first lectureship at Daybreak Bible College last weekend. We had a great turnout (especially for our first lectureship and considering the famine in the country which many do not have money for transportation this year). Thayer Salisbury (missionary from Eswatini) also came to speak at our lectureship.

This is something we plan to do every year as it edifies and encourages our former students in their ministries. It also gives us a chance to hear how well our graduates are doing in ministry. In the next few weeks I will post some updates about some of our former students.

Thayer Salisbury (missionary from Eswatini) is teaching a class for two-weeks on the subject, "God-Centered Bible Study." He is doing a great job teaching the students how to study the Bible.
