Some are saying and hoping that revival is beginning. I too hope and pray so. What did we see at Asbury University KY? What are we seeing in some other places around the country, including Calvary Chapel Lynchburg VA? It seems like GOD is moving upon Christians to repent of their sins and carnality, to cut off fleshly pursuits and even allowable things, that they might devote themselves to what's most important: to JESUS, HIS Kingdom, and HIS righteousness. Revival is not "healing the land" but "awakening the Church unto righteousness". I'm praying for GOD the HOLY SPIRIT to move upon me and HIS church here at Calvary Chapel Bartlett, that we would cut off things that don't matter in order to pursue JESUS unhindered! That instead of being focused on earthly matters, we would fulfill JESUS' Great Commission: preach the Gospel to the lost and make disciples of the saved. This requires cutting: not just things of the flesh, but rending of the heart.
Joel 2:13 So rend your heart, and not your garments; return to the LORD your God, for He is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness; and He relents from doing harm.
May we not be "weed-bed-believers", but may we be good soil that bears much fruit.
Mark 4:18-20 18 "Now these are the ones sown among thorns; they are the ones who hear the word, 19 and the cares of this world, the deceitfulness of riches, and the desires for other things entering in choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful. 20 But these are the ones sown on good ground, those who hear the word, accept it, and bear fruit: some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some a hundred.”
Please pray with me that the HOLY SPIRIT will convict us to cut off temporary things that we might be fully committed to eternal things.
