Today is Thankful Thursday and it's going to be a long post.
Hi everyone! I would love to take a moment to introduce myself. My name is Lexie, and I have been part of this church since birth. I now help run our social media pages, as well as volunteer and help with several of the events we host throughout the year.
I am a third-generation member of this church, and my son is now the fourth generation. ❤️ That is something I am incredibly proud and thankful for.
I am beyond grateful not only to have grown up in this church, but also to have the opportunity to serve alongside it. This is where I learned what it truly means to serve your community. We do what we can to help others, and our mission is simple: to serve others, no matter the who, what, when, where, or why.
One of our biggest community outreach programs is the Clothes Closet. Everything is free, and people from all different stages of life come through our doors. What makes this program so special is that it is truly community-supported. Without the constant and generous donations from our community, the Clothes Closet would not be the success that it is today.
Seeing the work of God through the Clothes Closet gives me hope and encouragement, especially on the difficult days. It is a beautiful reminder of what can happen when people come together to help one another.
We also have several free events throughout the year centered around our kiddos. Our free Easter Egg Hunt takes place in the spring and is something that has been happening since I was little. We also have Santa’s Workshop in December, which, while newer, has now been going strong for several years. And, of course, we can’t forget our Halloween Party, which has been bringing plenty of spooky fun for years!
Seeing the joy on the children’s faces—and on their parents’ faces—is truly heartwarming. These moments remind me why serving our church and community is so important.
This church, and the community it continues to build and support, never ceases to amaze me. I am thankful to be a small part of something much bigger—a plan that I may never fully understand.
Sometimes I have to remind myself to slow down, take a breath, and enjoy the moments. To look around and see the good that surrounds us. To appreciate the people, the memories, and the opportunities we have to serve.
I am so thankful to be part of this church family, and I can't wait to share more of what makes our church and community so special. ❤️
