Happy Labor Day from Immanuel United Church of Christ in Bartlett!

Today we honor the contributions of American workers and the many ways their labor helps build and strengthen our communities and our nation.

As people of faith, Labor Day also invites us to reflect on the place work holds in our lives. We give thanks for the gifts, skills, and service of all workers, and we pray for workplaces where every person is treated with dignity, fairness, and respect.

May this Labor Day bring rest, gratitude, and renewed hope to all.

Please note that the church office will be closed in observance of the holiday.

We’re delighted to welcome The Rev. Elizabeth Jones as our guest preacher at Immanuel UCC!

Rev. Jones is a full-time hospice chaplain in Chicago, a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (IAODAPCA), and is pursuing a Doctor of Ministry in Spiritual Direction.

When she’s not caring for others, Elizabeth enjoys reading, photography, music, yoga, and time with her husband, four adult children, and two grandchildren, not to mention Mary, their very opinionated tabby cat!

Join us in giving Rev. Jones a warm Immanuel welcome!

Growing Good in Our Community!

We’re celebrating nearly 450 pounds of fresh produce harvested from our garden this year, all being donated to Hanover Park Township to help serve our neighbors!

A heartfelt thank you to Theresa and everyone who plants, tends, and harvests. Together, we’re putting our faith into action!

Join us this Sunday, August 23 at 9:30 am for a special Baptism Service as we celebrate the baptism of a baby and surround him, his family, and friends with the love of our church community.

Following worship, we will hold a Special Congregational Meeting to elect our Nominated Church Council President.

This Sunday, we will gather for outdoor worship at 9:30 a.m. next to the Fellowship Hall, by the garden, as we have done in previous years.

We will celebrate Holy Communion using individual cups, and following worship, everyone is invited to enjoy an Ice Cream Social together!

Please bring a camp chair, wear comfortable clothing, and come ready to worship and enjoy fellowship in the beauty of God’s creation.

We look forward to seeing you Sunday and sharing this special summer morning together!
