I’m not here to tear anyone down or win an argument. I’m speaking plainly because truth spoken in the right spirit can still reach a man, even if he’s not ready to hear it. I don’t have the broad shoulders I once did, and I don’t pretend otherwise. Age humbles a man and teaches him what toughness never could. I get startled a little easier these days, and that’s honesty, not weakness. And here’s what age has taught me: someone has to hold me accountable. I don’t get a free pass just because I’m older or because I’ve lived a long life. I still need people who help keep me steady, and I’m grateful for them. Accountability isn’t an attack, or revenge, or judgment. It’s simply the reality that every man answers for his own choices. His choices are his. His consequences are his. How he receives this is his. All I can do is speak the truth I’m responsible for and keep my side clean.
