Sunday School at FUMC is designed to equip our young people in the church for life outside the church. The following are goals we hope to accomplish through Sunday School.
♥ SUNDAY SCHOOL teaches kids to respect, appreciate and apply God‘s Word in their lives.
♥ SUNDAY SCHOOL equips kids to navigate the Bible.
♥ SUNDAY SCHOOL provides kids with an opportunity to ask questions … about faith, God,
Christ, the Bible, etc.
♥ WASH develops a community of believers as kids/adults worship, learn, and discover together.
♥ SUNDAY SCHOOL plants spiritual seeds. for Praise & Worship as well as an introduction to the day‘s Bible passage. ALL are welcome to join in our opening worship regardless of age or background! Following Praise, Worship & Story Intro, all will be dismissed for either Study or Fellowship. Children participate in interactive classroom instruction. Youth assist classroom teachers. Adults choose either Adult Study in a classroom setting or Fellowship in an unstructured environment. Parents/guardians who do not remain on-site during the Worship and Study Hour will meet and pick up children in the Education Wing by 11:15 a.m. Currently, we use The Gospel Project, a brand new curriculum, that takes us all the way through the Bible over a period of four years. The Gospel Project invites us to plunge into the Bible. The Bible is not a collection of stories. It is one story, the story of God’s plan to rescue His people from sin and death. It is the true story of redemption, the gospel message of Jesus Christ. And it is your story, too! The Gospel Project is designed to unify an entire church under a single Christ-centered curriculum. Separate study plans for the same scripture/theme ensure the proper focus and depth for each age group (Preschool, Lower Elementary, Upper Elementary, and Adults).
