📜✝️ This Day in Catholic History – June 10 ✝️📜
Today we remember several important moments and figures that have shaped our Catholic heritage:
🔹 St. Margaret of Scotland – Traditionally celebrated on June 10, St. Margaret (1045–1093) was a queen known for her deep faith, charitable works, and efforts to reform and strengthen the Church in Scotland. Her example reminds us that holiness can flourish in every vocation, including public service and family life.
🔹 The Legacy of St. Landry of Paris – June 10 is also associated with St. Landry (Landericus), the 7th-century Bishop of Paris who founded one of the world's first hospitals, demonstrating the Church's long commitment to caring for the sick and vulnerable.
🔹 Mary, Mother of the Church – In recent years, the Church has often celebrated the Memorial of Mary, Mother of the Church near this date following Pentecost, a devotion formally added to the Roman Calendar by Pope Francis to deepen our appreciation of Mary's role in the life of the Church.
As we reflect on these examples of faith, charity, and devotion, may we be inspired to serve others, strengthen our families, and grow closer to Christ through the guidance of Our Blessed Mother and the witness of the saints.
