Last Sunday, we were honored to welcome Dan Kotowski, President and CEO of Kids Above All, to Barrington UMC. During worship and lunch following the service, Dan shared the impact of our partnership since 2020.

Since that partnership began, the generosity of Barrington UMC members and friends has helped 1,534 young people receive holiday gifts, school supplies, and other essential items through the Kids Above All Back to School and Holiday Gifts Drives.

Thank you, Kids Above All, for all that you do—and thank you to everyone who continues to make this partnership possible!

Spirit Lake Update!
Our team arrived safely at Spirit Lake Ministry UMC and wasted no time getting to work! Yesterday was all about making salsa—and everyone was VERY impressed with the enormous haul of Illinois produce, especially our legendary Illinois jalapeños!

Today brought another full day of hands-on work. The morning was spent picking aronia berries (aka chokeberries), followed by an afternoon of prepping berries for juicing and getting the remaining sweet corn from the garden ready for the freezer.

And in the category of “jobs that require teamwork and a little bravery,” Mark and Chris helped put up cattle fencing—with no injuries to report! That’s a successful day in our book.

Today, Sharon joined Fight2Feed Chicago to gather fresh food for our Carpentersville Community Meal. What a wonderful way to turn good food into good things for our neighbors! What a wonderful celebration at our Carpentersville Campus on Sunday, August 9! The Celebration of Lay Leadership was filled with joy as the congregation gathered for worship, the Presentation of Leadership, and special fellowship afterward. It was a beautiful opportunity to celebrate the gifts, dedication, and leadership that strengthen this community of faith. Thank you to everyone who joined the celebration and helped make this day so meaningful!
