Each year, our administration solicits nominations from the community on standout women in East Providence. We will feature the 2026 Remarkable Women Honorees over the next several weeks leading up to a celebration of these women on April 21, 2026 at 4:30PM at City Hall.
Please join us in congratulating Lee Amore on being named a 2026 Remarkable Woman!
Lee Amore is a proud East Providence High School graduate of the Class of 1984, whose lifelong commitment to service, community and professional excellence has made a lasting impact across Rhode Island and our East Providence Community.
Lee has been a consistent force of support for others in need throughout the entire region, serving as a mentor, sounding board and source of strength for women undergoing breast cancer treatment. As a breast cancer survivor herself, she has offered both lived understanding and encouragement to others facing similar journeys. Her advocacy and lived experience also helped inspire efforts leading to the passage of Rhode Island’s Chemotherapy Parity Law, helping ensure more equitable access to oral chemotherapy medications and reducing the financial burden on our loved ones.
Professionally, Lee serves as Senior Accountant for Brown University Health’s affiliate Bradley Hospital, where she brings skill, integrity and dedication to her work in healthcare finance. Additionally, she serves as the volunteer Campaign Treasurer for Friends of Gregg M. Amore, where she has been a steady and knowledgeable resource in mentoring others on campaign finance laws, reporting requirements, deadlines and compliance responsibilities.
Deeply rooted in her faith community, Lee is an active member of Saints Matthew’s & Mark’s Episcopal Church, serving as Vestry Treasurer while also dedicating her time as a Sunday School and Confirmation teacher.
Lee’s commitment to service extends well beyond governance and education, preparing and delivering weekly meals through the church’s Meals on Wheels program, while also helping to organize their annual Christmas Toys for Tots and family support initiative.
Additionally, Lee has provided free tax preparation assistance for individuals and families unable to afford professional services, further reflecting her commitment to practical, hands-on help within her community.
She has been a long-standing volunteer and treasurer for the East Providence High School football concession stand since the opening of the school’s new stadium, supporting students and school programs.
