Racquel Ray and Sara Bagwell from Barrington Congregational Church U.C.C. out cheering for the Special Olympics Law Enforcement Torch run today!

05/29/2026

Make sure to come out and cheer on participants in the Special Olympics Torch Run coming through Barrington! We encourage everyone in the community to stand along County Road in front of Barrington Town Hall, and show support for this inspiring event.

Each spring, the Barrington Police and Fire Departments join the Special Olympics Rhode Island Law Enforcement Torch Run East Bay Leg, carrying the “Flame of Hope” torch across Barrington. This tradition shows their support for the Special Olympics and ignites the ceremonial flame, opening the Games at the University of Rhode Island on Saturday, May 30th.

The East Bay Leg usually starts at the Bristol Police Station and passes through Warren, Barrington, and East Providence, ending at the East Providence Police Station.

For the most up-to-date route information and precise times, please check the official Legs of Annual Torch Run - Special Olympics Rhode Island page at https://specialolympicsri.org/torchrun/legs-annual-torch-run/
