A new Lutheran mission has been founded in Ireland! Praise be to God! May the Lord Jesus bless the work of Pastor Simojoki and the faithful families who come to hear the Word of God he proclaims!

A wonderful visit tonight with a family that quite literally sought out the Luthersn Church Missouri Synod after reading the Bible and testing the denominations they encountered. The only problem was that there was no LCMS Church in Ireland. Refusing to accept that, Mother Nicole contacted the headquarters of the LCMS and continued to bug them until she was referred to Dr. David Preus, who moved on it and contacted Rev Tapani Simojoki of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of England and the team went to work and here I was tonight praying with them. I am finding people who are seeking what we believe, teach and confess. Do our own people understand the gift that has been given to them?

Today the church celebrates the 1,700th anniversary of the Council of Nicaea!

Today the church commemorates the Ecumenical Council of Nicaea, A.D. 325—and what better way of doing so than by reciting the Nicene Creed!

I believe in one God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth and of all things visible and invisible.

And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God, begotten of His Father before all worlds, God of God, Light of Light, very God of very God, begotten, not made, being of one substance with the Father, by whom all things were made; who for us men and for our salvation came down from heaven and was incarnate by the Holy Spirit of the virgin Mary and was made man; and was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate. He suffered and was buried. And the third day He rose again according to the Scriptures and ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of the Father. And He will come again with glory to judge both the living and the dead, whose kingdom will have no end.

And I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord and Giver of Life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son together is worshiped and glorified, who spoke by the prophets. And I believe in one holy Christian and apostolic Church, I acknowledge one Baptism for the remission of sins, and I look for the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come. Amen.

Tomorrow we celebrate the Ascension of Our Lord at 7pm with Divine Service. Please join us in celebrating this important feast biblical feast!

"He was taken up, and a cloud hid Him from their sight. They were looking intently into the sky as He was going, when suddenly two men dressed in white stood beside them. 'Men of Galilee,' they said, 'why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen Him go into heaven.'” Acts 1:9b-11

Divine Service at 10 am this morning as the church celebrates the Annunciation of Our Lord where the angel proclaims the good news that the promise made through Isaiah has been fulfilled: the virgin has conceived and borne a son, and He shall be called Immanuel, God with us (Isaiah 7, Luke 1)!
