A couple of people that belong to the Shadow Rock family want to have a Trail Ride/Testimony night, Friday night Oct. 31, at the secret place 😊. I understand that hot chocolate and cupcakes will be served and possibly there will be a campfire. 😊There is no charge for this ride. If you are someone who does not like celebrating Halloween the traditional way come join us. We plan to ride out at 5:30 so please be at Shadow Rock by 5:00 / 5:15. Please RSVP me at 770-328-0863 by 12 pm on Thursday so we will have hot chocolate and cupcakes for everyone. 😊

Jerry Warren, cowboy poet and one of our members, lost his son to cancer this week. His son had been bravely battling cancer for eight years. Please remember Jerry and his family in your prayers.
Donald Wade "Bo" Warren
November 24, 1972 – August 26, 2025
Donald Wade "Bo" Warren, 52, of Monroe, Georgia, passed away peacefully after a courageous eight-year battle with colon cancer.
Bo was born on November 24, 1972, in Jacksonville, Florida, to Diane and Jerry Warren. As a child, his family relocated to Georgia, where he graduated from McEachern High School. His deep love for agriculture and farming led him to earn an Associate's Degree in Agriculture from Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College, a Bachelor's Degree in Agribusiness from the University of Georgia, and a Master of Business Administration from Mercer University.
Bo was highly recognized for his work in the agriculture industry. He dedicated his career to shaping agricultural policy and advocating for farmers across Georgia and the Southeast. Bo retired from the Georgia Department of Agriculture where he served as the Director of Policy under Commissioner Gary Black.
In 2018, Bo was honored to be elected to serve District 1 on the Walton County Board of Commissioners. He approached the position with sincerity, integrity, and a steadfast commitment to the people of Walton County. He never took lightly the responsibility of making difficult decisions for the betterment of his community and cherished the relationships he built with his neighbors and fellow leaders.
Beyond his professional achievements, Bo's greatest joy was his family. He married the love of his life, Amarie, in 2017, and together they welcomed two daughters: Ellis in 2017 and Betsy in 2019. Being a "girl dad" was Bo's proudest title. He relished every moment with his daughters, from teaching them to love the outdoors and Georgia Bulldogs football to laughing through the makeovers and playful adventures they lovingly orchestrated for him.
Bo is survived by his wife, Amarie Warren, and their daughters, Ellis and Betsy. He is also survived by his mother Diane Warren of Loganville, GA; his father Jerry Warren of Griffin, GA; his sister Donna Myers and her husband Clay of Loganville, GA; nephews Cole Myers (wife Meredith), Garrett Myers (wife Bailey), and Owen Myers; and great-niece Callie.
He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, son, brother, and uncle-an advocate, leader, and friend whose impact will be felt for generations.
Services will be held Thursday, September 4, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Alban's Episcopal Church in Monroe. A visitation will precede the service in the Parish Hall at 1:00 p.m. A reception will follow at 4:00 p.m. at The Wayfarer.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to college funds established for Ellis (code B1K-S86) and Betsy (code J0Q-R87) at www.ugift529.com or to the Bo Warren Memorial Fund for community outreach at St. Alban's Episcopal Church Monroe.

At the June meeting of Cowboy For Christ last night I spoke about how often God uses people who are in the eyes of many so-called Christians incapable of being used because of their imperfections, past sins or past questionable lifestyles. There are many examples in current life and in the Bible. One that comes to mind this morning is Jelly Roll. A man who spent years in prison. A man who has tattoos all over his body and on his face. A man that most of us would ignore if we met him on the street, before he became famous. But then we see him on stage with Brandon Lake at the CMAs and listen as they sing Hard Fought Hallelujah and once again realize God uses those two to reach thousands (if not millions) of young people through a message in song. We serve a mighty God. No matter your short-comings, no matter your failures, no matter your past or current sins, God will use you to further His Kingdom if you will surrender to him.
