Genesis 8:13-14 "And it came to pass in the six hundred and first year, in the first month, the first day of the month, that the waters were dried up from the earth; and Noah removed the covering of the ark, and looked and behold the surface of the ground was dry. By the twenty-seventh day of the second month the earth was completely dry."
I used to run a lot. As I ran and became more fatigued, I began to look forward to the end of my run. As I got closer and could see the finish line, it encouraged me, but I still had to run those final steps to finish. So, the end was in sight, but not quite there yet.
Here in Genesis 8, we see Noah almost at the end of his time in the ark, so he opened the cover of the ark on the 1st day of the 1st month and could see dry ground. However, it wouldn't be until the 27th day of the 2nd month that he and his family could leave the ark. The end was in sight, but not quite there yet.
As Christians, we go through trials and times of waiting. It's never easy, and can be discouraging. But God provides us with glimmers of hope, even when it's not quite the end of the trial or waiting period. He promises to bring us through at just the right time, His time. It's like He's saying, "The end is in sight, you're almost there, keep going!"
If you're in a trial or a waiting period right now, don't give up! The end is in sight, God will bring you through! Keep your eyes on Him, grow close to Him, and thank Him for His love and care for you.
Psalm 27:14 "Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord!"
