We often feel the weight of the world—the frustration of watching the world spiral out of control, the cultural devolution, and the pressures of our daily lives. It’s easy for our hearts to become heavy and our Spirits be anxious. Now look closer at the Psalmist’s remedy. He does not suggest looking to politics, to social trends, or to the shifting sands of human approval to find peace. He commands his own soul to put its hope in God.

When we anchor our hope elsewhere, discouragement is inevitable. If your hope is in the stability of institutions, you will be disappointed. If your hope is in things or people of this world, you will certainly fall into despair. But when our hope is centered firmly on Christ—the King who reigns over all creation and whose victory is already secured—EVERYTHING changes!

The struggle is real, and the battle is long, but we are not called to live in fear. We are called to stand firm, to build, and to trust. Do not let your soul stay downcast today. Remind your heart of the Truth: the Lord is our Savior and our God, and He is on the throne. We will yet praise Him in the midst of our life challenges because His purposes WILL prevail.
Stay strong, stay grounded in the faith, and keep your focus on the only One who is truly unshakable. To God be the glory!

One of the dangerous side effects of consumer Christianity is that people begin evaluating churches the same way they evaluate restaurants, gyms, streaming platforms, or brands.

“Did I enjoy it?”
“Did it meet my needs?”
“Did it inspire me enough?”
“Did my family like the experience?”

But the New Testament asks completely different questions:

Are people being formed into holiness?
Are believers carrying one another’s burdens?
Is the gospel being proclaimed faithfully?
Are disciples being made?
Is the church reflecting the character of Christ?

Consumerism trains people to think church exists for them.

The kingdom of God teaches people they exist for Christ.

If I were to give you something, there is an expectation that you would find the gift useful in some way. Have you ever given a gift to someone and they didn’t use it? If we are honest, we have also received a gift that somehow didn’t connect with us.
The gift of the Holy Spirit is a gift from God. He gives this gift for a reason - we cannot operate as followers of Christ unless we accept AND use it for its intended purposes.
Consider praying about how God would have you to use the gift of the Holy Spirit today. All are invited to join us this Sunday (5/24/26) for a message centered around the gift of Holy Spirit and practical ways we could use it in our daily lives.

🌟 Bad News - Good News 🌟
Bad news: There’s nothing you can do to earn God’s favor. No amount of good deeds, church attendance, or trying harder can make you worthy on your own.
Good News: Grace is completely free! Salvation is a gift, not a paycheck. Jesus didn’t come to judge you — He came to save you and give you real, abundant life.
You don’t have to clean yourself up first. Just come as you are. His love is already reaching for you.
“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith — and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God — not by works, so that no one can boast.” (Ephesians 2:8-9)
If you’ve been carrying the weight of “not enough,” today is the day to lay it down at the feet of Jesus. God loves YOU!

These are questions asked to those seeking Baptism in a church from South Asia. These are hard questions for consideration.
I had someone recently ask me, “how do I draw closer to God?” I thought that the fact that they wanted to draw closer to God was sort of in itself, evidence they were already drawing closer to God.
As time went by, based on observable characteristics within this person, it appears that their question was more of a curiosity question and that they were looking for a step-by-step guide.
A healthy relationship with God is not tied to a step-by-step process. Instead, it is a transformative, life-long change in a person’s life. Romans 12:2 speaks to this: “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”
Making a statement you want to draw closer to God and actually drawing closer to God can sometimes be two very different things. I can say I want to lose weight, but if I don’t eat healthy and exercise, then one could conclude that I really don’t want to lose weight.
By nature, we are not comfortable with changes in our lives. This is especially true as we get older. Yet, as followers of Christ, we are called to be transformed. Being transformed means change. One of the areas of transformation that many people struggle with is who they associate with.
Who you “hang with” matters. Proverbs 13:20 - “He who walks with wise men will be wise, But the companion of fools will be destroyed.” we have a tendency to emulate those whom we associate with on a regular basis.
Luke 5:17-39 tells us about a man who could not walk. His friends took him to see Jesus for healing. When they could not get in the room where Jesus was, they took him up to the rooftop and let him down from there. I want friends like that!
Friends that are not actively engaged in a healthy relationship with Christ typically do not challenge us to grow deeper in our relationship with God. Friends that have been transformed by the love, grace and mercy of a loving Savior tend to challenge and encourage each other to grow deep in their love for our Lord and Savior Jesus.

Father, we’re blessed to live in a country that still allows us to freely worship You. However, there is still brokenness and division in our country that we know only You can fix.

We’re reminded of 1 Peter 3:8, which instructs us to “be like-minded, be sympathetic, love one another,” and “be compassionate and humble.” Fill our hearts with grace for one another, God, and help us tend to our communities and families with Your perfect peace.

People aren't confused by the gospel, they're confused by us. Unite us, heal our wounds, and let others recognize us by our radical love.

We pray this in the name of Jesus. Amen.
