We are so grateful for the opportunity to journey with a first-year teacher through both prayer and presence. 💛🎶

Yesterday, we had the joy of attending the ribbon cutting for Ms. Eddington’s very first classroom! What a sacred beginning to a new chapter.

This year, her assignment is her students, and our assignment is Ms. Eddington.

As she pours into young people through music, creativity, encouragement, and education, we want to make sure someone is pouring into her. We are committed to praying for her, encouraging her, showing up, and reminding her that she does not serve alone.

This is what community partnership looks like. It goes beyond the backpack drive. It is not just showing up at the beginning of the school year. It is building relationships and staying present throughout the journey.

We are praying for Ms. Eddington and every student who will enter her classroom. May this be a year filled with growth, discovery, beautiful music, and great success! 🎼📚

Who is the teacher you can commit to supporting this school year? Adopt a teacher. Pray for them. Encourage them. Show up for them.

Today we celebrate Terri, the newest member of our Union family! 🙌🏾❤️

There is something beautiful about saying YES to God and YES to being planted in community. Terri, we are grateful God led you to Union, and we are excited to walk alongside you as we grow, serve, worship, and do life together.

Welcome home, Terri! There is room for you at Union! ❤️

Today in our sermon, “Missing,” we wrestled with a sobering truth: we can be busy moving, serving, planning, and doing, yet never notice that Jesus is missing from what we’re doing.

Activity is not always obedience. Progress is not always proof that God is leading. Sometimes we have to stop long enough to ask, “Jesus, are You in this, or have I moved ahead of You?”

Lord, teach us to move with You, in obedience to You, and never ahead of You. May Your presence be more important than our plans.

Today, ministry looked like food in motion and love with no strings attached. ❤️

We filled three community fridges, stocked the Sharing Table for our friends in recovery, and dropped off food to our sick and shut-in, just because.

Because sometimes ministry is simply noticing who might need a little extra love and showing up.

We don’t just feed people. We care for people. We build community. We make sure nobody is forgotten.

This is what it means to be the Church beyond the walls.

Ministry becomes even more meaningful when we serve together.

Just days into a new appointment, Pastor Angelic Williams joined with the middle school ministry of John Wesley United Methodist Church to put faith into action alongside the Union Memorial UMC community.

Students, seniors, church leaders, and volunteers came together to prepare more than 700 lunches, which were delivered to community fridges across East and West Baltimore to help neighbors experiencing food insecurity. 🙏

This day was about more than packing lunches. It was a beautiful example of what can happen when generations, congregations, and communities unite around a shared purpose.

As we begin a new appointment season, may stories like this remind us that the Church is strongest when we work together to care for our neighbors and build communities rooted in compassion. ❤️

🙌 How has serving alongside others strengthened your faith?
