Come to our Songstresses recital at Govans at 3pm, featuring all women composers including Florence Price, Pauline Viardot, Clara Schumann and more. Performed by Baltimore native baritone Kellen Johnson and soprano Sofia Scattarreggia hailing all the way from Rochester NY. Sofia has performed with Buffalo Opera Unlimited, Opera Theatre of Saint Louis, and she is an upcoming resident artist at Tri-Cities Opera. Kellen Johnson has performed with Washington National Opera, Annapolis Opera, and regularly co-curates exhibitions at the Baltimore Museum of Art. Marie Herrington is one of the music directors at Govans Presbyterian Church, and has been a resident artist at Source Song Festival, Arts Letters and Numbers, and will soon be an artist in residence at Art Song Lab in Vancouver, Canada.

Join us March 29 for new works by Baltimore area composers! Here's a spotlight for one of our guest composers: Justine Koontz. Justine Koontz is a Baltimore-based composer and conductor who works at the intersection of music and identity. Her composition catalogue focuses on choral and chamber music. She is the music minister of Memorial Episcopal Church in Baltimore, founder of the Program Choir of Baltimore, and also teaches privately in Timonium.
