Hampden's Ham and Oyster Dinner One of the Oldest Church Dinners in the Country Hampden's Ham and Oyster Dinner is one of the oldest church dinners in the United States.

For over 79 years the tradition of serving fried oysters and ham with all the fixings including stewed tomatoes, coleslaw, potato salad, green beans, roll, a large selection of homemade deserts and beverage included. The meal is served family style except extra oysters that are available, with an unlimited quantity, but with an additional charge. The passed down recipe is said to have come from Grimm’s Restaurant, which was located where the Bella Roma Restaurant is located now on Falls Road.
