St. John’s is marching in the Pride Parade today!

All are welcome to join!

The parade will begin at 21st Street and proceed northward on Charles Street to 27th Street.
Be aware that the City will be closing off nearby streets around 11:00 so, if you plan to drive, get in the area before then.

Both University Baptist at 3501 N. Charles and St. Mark's Lutheran at 1900 St. Paul have offered their parking lots, but spaces are first-come, first-served and will likely fill up early.
The parade staging area is the first unit block of West 21st Street between Charles Street and Maryland Avenue. Look for us there.

The parade organizers want us there at 10:45. We recommend arriving by 11:00 so we can claim a good-sized area since we are the largest group of marchers. Grace UMC says to arrive by 11:30, which is totally understandable given long wait times in the past. You decide!

The great news is that we, as part of the Faith Communities of Baltimore with Pride, will be the first group to march! So we should have less time waiting around and can get out of the heat sooner for those who want to do so.
The organizers say the parade will start promptly at 12:00 noon. Hopefully it will!
We can take turns carrying out in the parade. Marshalls will help keep marching groups separate during the parade.

If you do not wish to march, come and cheer us on!

Have a happy and safe Pride!

From one of our members!

Just a quick heads-up that the tulips at Sherwood Gardens are officially at peak bloom!

If you haven't walked through lately, you really should stop by soon. The gardens are absolutely stunning right now, filled with every vibrant color you can imagine. It's the perfect time for a stroll or some photos while the display is at its best.

As a reminder, it takes a lot of work and resources to keep this beautiful park running for all of us to enjoy. If you're able, please consider making a donation to support Sherwood Gardens so we can keep this tradition alive for years to come.

Hope to see you out there among the flowers and trees!

We are starting our Lenten book study this evening. We will be reading a book called Pause: Spending Lent with the Psalms, by Elizabeth F. Caldwell.
Each week, the author selects a different psalm and invites the reader to engage with the images, ideas, and insights that it provides.

The book is available for $11.50. If you would like a copy but don't have $11.50, that's fine. Please let us know.
Other options include the Pratt Free Library, which offers an electronic version for free on their Hoopla app.

Note that Lent begins on Ash Wednesday, March 5, and ends on Easter Sunday, April 20. We'll meet on Mondays from 6:30 to 7:30 via Zoom.

You can come to all or as many meetings as you would like.

Please reach out to us if you would like more information and the Zoom link for the study.

We hope you can join us!
