Shrine Remembrance Poster

Some of our parishioners have collaborated to create a Shrine Remembrance image celebrating the long history of our parish and its many ministries over the years. A pdf of this image is available on our parish website or by contacting Tony at [email protected].

A limited number of 11x17 posters (one per family, please) will be available after masses as a gift from Tony Consoli & Mary Jo Harris. Christmas Blessings to all of you as we proceed forward in faith to the next phase of our journey as a faith community.

Shrine Parishioner Data🙏💒
Next Parish Choice

Dear Parishioners,

A number of people are seeking to learn which parishes others are contemplating as new communities to join. To aid them in answering their question I’m attempting to gather information that will give a “big picture” of the answer. If you are willing, please send me three bits of information; name of the parish you’re contemplating attending, your name (first and last or just last name), and the number in your family making the move. The numbers for each parish will be tallied and the totals for each parish will be made available to all our parishioners. In this way, though we may lose our beautiful and warm worship space, we can still keep groups of the beating Heart and Soul that animate our parish community together, but ….as a diaspora.

Thank you, in advance, for any assistance you can give to this endeavor.

Warmly,

Steve Siwinski

As we approach the final Masses at the Shrine, we've compiled a special collection of historical documents & photos, and the recent professional photos and drone video. These resources are available for you to download and keep as a meaningful reminder of our beloved parish. Simbang Gabi is a Filipino Christmas tradition and a wonderful occasion for all of us to come together and share our faith. It is a series of dawn or dusk masses on the Advent days leading up to Christmas. It is also the spiritual preparation for Christmas and commemorates the birth of Jesus Christ. Simbang Gabi is also seen as a way of requesting blessings from the Lord, as it is believed that if one completes the whole series of nine masses, their wishes will be granted. See you all on the 15th, the first day, and all the 9 days! May God Bless Us All!

This Sunday, November 24th, Shrine parishioners will have a wonderful opportunity to express our gratitude to Fr. Au and to help him begin his retirement.

Parishioners attending the Grand Celebration of the Shrine and Fr. Au’s Retirement at Taylor Hall can contribute a monetary gift* (check, gift card, cash) to Fr. Au, just as people might when they attend a wedding celebration.
If you wish to contribute, please include those contributions in a card or envelope or together with your “Tribute Note,” thanking Fr. Au for his dedicated years of service.

There will be a “Tribute Table” when you arrive at Taylor Hall. On it there will be a place for any cards or donations, as well as a book to write any other thoughts to Fr. Au or your memories of the Shrine. See last Sunday’s Bulletin regarding Tribute Notes.

If you would prefer to contribute electronically through the Fr. Au retirement GoFundMe site, it is still active. The address is: https://gofund.me/8a0791a2

In addition, This “Tribute book” will also be available in the Tower Room after each of the masses this weekend for those parishioners who cannot attend the celebration on Sunday.

"Most of all they are the reflections of a man who learned how to be open to seeing the presence of God in all the events of his life and found the ultimate peace of discovering that the One his heart was always restless to find had already found him. "

🙏Catholic Care of the Sick and Dying🙏

In 2020, the Vatican’s Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith released the letter Samaritanus bonus, “on the care of persons in the critical and terminal phases of life.” The letter reaffirms the Church’s teaching on care for those who are critically ill or dying and offers additional pastoral guidance for increasingly complex situations at the end of life.
