With heavy hearts, we share the passing of Bernard “Bernie” A. Penner.

Bernie was a beloved part of the Zion family and a true disciple of Zion, faithfully sharing his time, talents, friendship, and love for our church and community. His presence touched so many lives, and he will be deeply missed.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to his wife, Helga, and the entire Penner family. Please keep them close in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

A service celebrating Bernie’s life will be held on Saturday, September 26 at 1:00 p.m. at Zion Church of the City of Baltimore.

We give thanks for Bernie’s life, his faith, and the many years of love and service he gave so freely.

Rest in peace, Bernie. A true disciple of Zion, you will forever be a part of our church family. 🕊️
