It’s time for our last Summer catch up post! ☀️

This one took the longest because it had to come all the way from Florida…so let’s finally see what Gabby’s been up to this summer!

In case you didn’t know; Florida is very hot, so we have to backtrack to May to get good outside activities to talk about…but that works well because in May they celebrated Wolf’s 16th birthday with a bucket list item of his, a trip to St. Augustine to see the lighthouse. Then Gabby did a photoshoot with the tiny crocheted emotional support crab that their wife Emily made for them, and made sure to stay cool inside drinking their favorite grape soda float!

Later this summer Gabby and Emily did get out to Disney Springs for a date night and got to say hi to Maui (You’re Welcome)! Now Gabby is safely inside, cooling off in the A/C, preparing to celebrate their 40th Birthday this month (to match BSS of course).

And of course their most important summer activity is making sure Orion gets enough time outside to be a sun puppy with her favorite red tennis balls!

Let’s catch up this week with Sarah, who’s been spending the summer running around (literally)! 🏃‍♀️

In June she ran the Baltimore Women’s Classic 5K with her good friend Melissa. Then she went to Israel with the Birthright Volunteer Program (ask her about it!). There, together with the program, she spent her mornings/afternoons volunteering throughout Israel on Farms, Hospitals, and Warehouses. Spent the late Afternoons and Evenings exploring Tel Aviv.

And before coming back home to Baltimore, she had a really cool experience watching the World Cup semi-final match between Spain & France on the Beach in Tel Aviv, with only 10,000+ people!

Last week members of Bolton Street Synagogue joined together with Jews United for Justice to speak loudly on Tisha B’Av about our fears and worries for our immigrant neighbors. 

On a day of mourning in our Jewish calendar, we gathered as one to share our anger and sadness for the treatment of the documented and undocumented in our country.

If we blink summer will be over! Let’s catch up this week with Rabbi Andy Gordon, who’s taking the time to connect and recharge.

Rabbi Andy Gordon was able to take some time with his husband Brian to visit Big Sur in California, to be out in nature, and to do some wonderful hiking!  He also spent five incredible days with the Institute for Jewish Spirituality’s Clergy Leadership Program. During the clergy retreat, he focused on mindfulness activities like daily meditation, text study, yoga, and prayer. He also took time to read some books that he’ll be sharing this fall!

Shabbat Shalom! 🍷🧀

We are so looking forward to spending Shabbat together! Join us at 5:45pm tonight for a delicious wine & cheese pre-oneg generously sponsored by seppiabaltimore and the Lefenfeld Families, followed by our Shabbat Evening service, outside tonight, at 6:30pm!

On Sunday our green team will be out working in the garden and enjoying this summer weather, feel free to join them and lend a helping hand at 10am!

Summer is flying by! Let’s catch up with some Bolton Street Staff to see what everyone has been up to!

Carmen Sandiego has nothing on Cory!!

Our Director of Education has been everywhere, from the President’s Residence in Jerusalem with her husband Barak, to the Kotel, to song leading Kabbalat Shabbat in Tel Aviv! She’s biked from Tel Aviv to Jaffa, taken in sunset views with friends, celebrated at the Maccabiah opening ceremonies, and spent meaningful time reconnecting with community.
