We are so excited to finally reveal our BSS Community Art Project, a labor of love we’ve been working on since November, now coming together in a breathtaking installation of more than 500 mixed-media tiles. This collaborative mural, created by a multi-generational cross-section of our community, brings BSS’s guiding values—L’dor V’dor, Inclusiveness, Spirituality, and Tikkun Olam—to life just in time for our 40th anniversary celebration.
We are especially grateful to artist-in-residence Tova Speter (), whose vision made this project possible; over the past few months, she designed and facilitated this large-scale exploration of who we are and what we stand for as a community. This past weekend, Tova lovingly assembled all 500+ individual tiles into the final installation, weaving our many stories into one powerful, shared work of art.
We’d also like to include a very special shoutout to Cory Hermann and Ethel Zelenske, who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to bring this vision to life. Their dedication, creativity, and passion were integral at every step. The care they poured into this project is quite literally woven into the mural itself, in every tile and every connection between them.
We are equally grateful to every community member who contributed a tile and shared their time, energy, and love to make this mural possible. Each tile is a unique expression of BSS’s spirit, and together they tell a powerful story of who we are. Thank you to everyone who showed up, painted, glued, dreamed, and created with us; this work of art simply could not exist without you. 💚🌳
