🐾 Join us tomorrow, Sunday, October 11, at 11 a.m., for our Blessing of the Animals!

☔ Because of the forecast for rain, we’ll gather indoors in the sanctuary. You’re welcome to bring a pet that can remain safely in a cage or bowl, or bring a picture of your pet or a beloved former pet you’d like to remember.

God’s love is not something we earn through good works, religious activity, or getting everything right. It is a gift of grace, freely offered to all. And in Christ, we are given a new identity and welcomed into a family of faith that reaches far beyond our own congregation and community.

As Christians around the world gather at the Lord’s Table, we are reminded that we belong to Christ—and, through Christ, to one another.

On World Communion Sunday, we are reminded that God’s grace is freely given, and in Christ we are welcomed into a family of faith that stretches across cultures, traditions, and nations.

Join us tomorrow at 11:00 a.m. as we celebrate World Communion Sunday at Hampden United Methodist Church!

As Christians around the world gather at the Lord’s Table, we’ll reflect on Philippians 3:4b–14 and Paul’s desire to know Christ and “press on toward the goal.” Together, we’ll celebrate God’s grace and remember that, in Christ, we are part of a family that stretches around the world.

What has God already given us that we may be overlooking?

This past Sunday, we reflected on the stories of God providing manna in the wilderness, Jesus' parable of the workers in the vineyard, and the generous grace of God. These stories invite us to recognize God’s provision, trust that there is enough, and consider how the time, relationships, abilities, resources, and opportunities already in our hands might be used for the good of others.

God’s provision does not always look the way we expect. What has God already placed in our hands, and how might we use it faithfully?
