CHURCH COVENANT

MIN: Having been led, as we believe, by the spirit of God, to receive the Lord Jesus as our Savior. MIN: We do now in the presence of God, angels and his assembly, most solemnly and joyfully enter into covenant with one another, as one body in Christ. CONG: We engage, therefore, by the aid of the Holy Spirit, to walk together in Christian love; to strive for the advancement of this church -in knowledge, holiness, and comfort. MIN: To promote its prosperity and spirituality; to sustain its worship ordinances, discipline, and doctrines. CONG: To contribute cheerfully and regularly to the support of the ministry, the expenses of the church, the relief of the poor, and the spread of the gospel through all nations. MIN: We also engage to maintain family and secret devotions, to religiously educate our children, to seek the salvation of our kindred and acquaintances;
CONG: To walk circumspectly in the world, to be just in our dealings,faithful in our engagements, and exemplary in our deportment. MIN: To avoid all tattling, backbiting, and excessive anger. CONG: To abstain from the sale and use of intoxicating drinks as a beverage, and to be zealous in our efforts to advance the kingdom of our Savior. MIN: We further engage to watch over one another in brotherly love,
CONG: To remember each other in prayer; to aid each other in sickness and distress; to cultivate Christian sympathy in feeling and courtesy in speech;

MIN: To be slow to take offense, but always ready for reconciliation, and mindful of the rules of our savior to secure it without delay. ALL: We moreover engage that when we remove from this place, we will, as soon as possible, unite with some other church, where we can carry out the spirit of this covenant and the principles of God's Word...

Official Statement on COVID-19

In response to our current health crisis, we are planning a unique worship opportunity. For the next few weeks, I want you to join us for worship each Sunday at 11:00 am. Our services will be in multiple formats; in the sanctuary as well as online. As we reassess our needs, we will determine how we will proceed, going forward. However, tomorrow’s service will take place in our main sanctuary.

In addition, you can enter the worship service through these doors: Facebook Live or by dialing 605.313.4812 and using the access code 484544. We will remain faithful and consistent in our stewardship using our website, the giving: givelfy, our cashapp @ $GreaterFaithBaptist or by mailing your tithes and offerings to GREATER FAITH BAPTIST, P.O. BOX 4727, Baltimore, MD 21211. I am asking that you join me by dialing in each Wednesday night during this season at 7:00 pm for our CHURCH-WIDE WINNING FAITH BIBLE STUDY, prayer calls and updates @ 605.313.4812 and using the access code 484544. These calls will be on the conference call number as well as live-streamed on our social media pages.

In this season we must remember that we are the church. The church is not a building but a called-out body of believers. We are called to provide critical and creative critique to the culture. Our number one priority is the care of our membership and those who will come to worship at Greater Faith Baptist Church. Therefore, we have taken extra precaution by sanitizing the church and creating and environment that facilitates social distancing. We encourage everyone to be wise and prudent during this time. If you feel ill consult your health care provider immediately and be mindful of CDC recommendations. Remember, Social Distancing is not disconnecting but we may need to find creative ways to remain connected to one another especially in these difficult and challenging times.

The Church of the Lord Jesus Christ cannot be confined to a building. We are the church and we are still having church, just in a new format for the time being. We will keep watch and update our church community week to week as this pandemic continues. Please stay connected to our website and social media platforms.
