The birth of Jesus changed man’s trajectory from hopeless to hopeful.

The Messiah’s first breath in infant form breathed life into all creation, and changed the world forever.

This Christmas season we’re taking time to unpack the excitement of the story of Christmas. A story that has reverberated from one generation to the next.

Join us this Sunday at 10:30am as we give glory to the King who came for us!

All throughout scripture we find instruction to show high honor to those who have taken on the responsibility of serving the flock as shepherds.

The men and women who do so are not positioning themselves as leaders at the top, but rather as servants at the bottom.

Imitating Jesus as ones who did not come to be served, but to serve. Giving their lives away to the people the Lord has entrusted to them.

Over the next few months we are going to be honoring Pastors Brad, Mary, Nate, and Amber; along with all of our leaders that are making a personal impact on you.

Please take advantage of one of the ways listed to honor & celebrate those who love us so well.

You can also leave a comment for them to read here!

The Church’s life and power are tied to God’s ancient promises.

We are a community rooted in the scriptures. Never swaying from the truth found in God’s word.

All that has happened, and is happening, is tied to what God said would happen.

This is why our history is so vital.

Because the only way to end up on the wrong side of history, is to not know it.

If we don’t know it, we can’t know Him.

Start your week in His presence by spending time in His word.

In Acts 2:14 we see Peter “standing up with the eleven, raised his voice and said to them, “Men of Judea and all who dwell in Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and heed my words.”

Peter stood up ‘with” the other eleven Apostles.

It doesn’t say that Peter stood up on his own, but rather he did so with the covering of his brotherhood.

This was a collective unity & authority by Peter and the Apostles through the empowerment of the Holy Spirit.

The Spirit removed fear & insecurity, which produced courage, and led Peter and the 11 to action.
‭‭
As much as the power of the Holy Spirit will enable you to prophecy & speak in tongues. Which He will!

He will also empower you to raise your voice on behalf of the gospel, or be the one who stands with those who do.

Do not squander your opportunity today, to declare the Good News Jesus has sent you to proclaim!

As a body of believers, we are unified in our love for Jesus. Unity is not uniformity. Our lives have intersected from many different paths, backgrounds, and cultures. In coming together for such a time as this, we find our common bond in Christ, and the privilege we have to serve those around us. The culture of the Kingdom is on full display at Hope City, and all lives point to Jesus.

In Acts 1:9 Luke recounts the moment that Jesus was "taken up and a cloud received Him out of their sight".

In Ephesians 2:2, Paul writes of Satan as the "prince of the power of the air".

When Jesus died, rose again, and ascended into the Heavens; He made a proclamation to the principalities & powers of the air.

That proclamation was VICTORY!

"He disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it." (Colossians 2:15)

Jesus wasn't escaping the world when He ascended through the air, He was being enthroned over it.

In Him, we now have access to that same victory.

In Him, we have been made free!

Sundays at Hope City are not built for entertaining the multitude, but rather to engage with the One who has captivated our hearts.

We prepare for service in the days ahead, but we do not let our order of service order our steps. The Holy Spirit leads, we follow.

Yesterday, we came together mid service to pray collectively as one accord. Many people, from many backgrounds, with one thing in common. Jesus!

The Lord is at work in supernatural ways among His people, and it is our honor & privilege to host His presence, and to see His Kingdom come in Baltimore as it is in Heaven!

Not every interruption is an inconvenience, but that’s hard to see when you move at the pace of the world, rather than the pace of Jesus.

Jesus was never hurried, even when it made sense for Him to be.

Jesus moved at the pace of love, because He is love, and love is never rushed.

Hurry will never birth a love that is long suffering, kind, generous, humble, respectful, selfless, patient, renewing, empathetic, or hopeful.

That is why we must move as Jesus did, at the slow and steady pace of the Kingdom, with eyes to see beyond the natural into the supernatural.

Then and only then, can we love like Jesus.

“Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing. Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
