June is Men’s Month at Gethsemane. Our theme is “God’s Men: Walking in Strength and Courage” and our anchoring scripture is Joshua 1:7 “Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go.”

Sunday, June 21st is Father’s Day. Rev. Cordell Hunter, former Presiding Elder, will be our guest preacher who will pour into our men. Service begins at 10am in person and in our Virtual Sanctuary.

Saturday, June 27th, we are asking all of Gethsemane’s men to gather for our Men’s Prayer Breakfast. Come to break bread and then hear a mighty word from Rev. Brandon McAfee, pastor of St. John AME Church. The Prayer Breakfast begins at 10am and is in person only.

Sunday, June 28th is Men’s Day. This year we will hear from our young adults, Bro. Malik Hudson, Bro. Sakari Greene and Bro. Amani Greene, who will share a word from the Lord. Service begins at 10am in person and in our Virtual Sanctuary.

We are ready to celebrate our men during the month of June and want you to join us in person at 2931 E. Madison St., 21205.

2. How did the Holy Spirit use Philip?

Our Summer of Stillness continues where we press pause on the world to connect with the peace of God.

Saturday, June 20th at 10am, meet us at Round Falls, the waterfall behind Druid Hill Park, for Breath Prayer, a simple, contemplative prayer that aligns with your natural breathing rhythm where we will inhale a word or phrase about God and exhale a petition, praise, or response.

Then we will participate in a sacred reading of Psalm 139 through Lectio Divina where we will read, meditate and contemplate on Psalm 139:1-18.

Please bring a journal so you can write down what the Holy Spirit shares with you.
