There is something beautiful that happens when believers gather…

Cities soften.
Strangers become family.
Ideas become movements.
And hearts — often exhausted by the weight of the world — remember why they carry faith in the first place.

This weekend, Baltimore has the honor of welcoming thousands for the annual ICNA Convention — a gathering of scholarship, service, reflection, and renewed purpose.

We at Masjid Ul-Haqq are deeply grateful to ICNA for allowing us to be present, to serve, and to host members of this remarkable community as honored guests in our city. It is a trust we do not take lightly.

To welcome someone seeking knowledge…
To share space with those striving for Allah…
To break bread, exchange stories, and strengthen bonds…

These are not small acts.

These are the quiet ways an Ummah is built.

Baltimore is often spoken about through statistics and struggle.

But this weekend, let it also be known through hospitality. Through brotherhood. Through sisterhood. Through believers gathering with hope.

To our local community:

Come out. Attend. Connect. Learn. Be inspired.
Support the spaces where Muslims from every background, generation, and journey stand shoulder to shoulder remembering that our differences are many… but our Lord is One.

May Allah place barakah in every session, every conversation, every handshake, and every heart that walks through these doors.

And to our visitors:

Welcome to Baltimore. Welcome to Masjid Ul-Haqq. Welcome home.

Love, when rooted in faith, becomes more than emotion… it becomes worship.

This past Saturday, beneath the mercy of Allah and surrounded by witnesses to a sacred covenant, our beloved brother Deon and sister Krishona joined hearts in nikāḥ — beginning a journey built not merely on affection, but on mercy, patience, sacrifice, and remembrance of Allah.

Allah says:

“And among His signs is that He created for you spouses from among yourselves that you may find tranquility in them, and He placed between you affection and mercy.”
— The Quran

May Allah place sakīnah in their home…
Barakah in their wealth…
Mercy in their disagreements…
Laughter in their ordinary days…
And generations of righteousness that continue long after them.

Congratulations to Deon & Krishona. Your community celebrates with you and prays that your love becomes a means to Jannah.

💍 Looking for a sacred space to begin your own journey?
Masjid Ul-Haqq welcomes couples seeking nikāḥ services, marriage counseling, and beautiful faith-centered nuptial ceremonies. Let your first steps together begin in a place built upon worship, community, and duʿā.

There is something beautiful about Friday…

Not because the world slows down—
but because the believer remembers where true peace is found.

Something about Friday softens the noise,
humbles the heart,
and reminds the weary soul…
you were never meant to carry life apart from Allah.

It is the day du’ā rises heavier,
the day sins are forgiven easier,
the day hearts fractured by dunya
are invited back together.

How many burdens entered Friday…
and never left with us?

How many tears were hidden behind smiles…
until sujūd translated what words could not?

Friday is proof that Allah, in His mercy,
placed a weekly return for those losing themselves in the race.

So come back.
Come tired.
Come burdened.
Come grateful.
Just come.

For there is something beautiful about a day
where the believer leaves lighter
than they arrived.

Khutbah Takeaway | Forgiveness Is Strength

One of the deepest reminders from this khutbah was that forgiveness is woven into the fitrah of humanity.

Allah says:

“Show forgiveness, enjoin what is good, and turn away from the ignorant.”
(Qur’an 7:199)

The Imam explained that this doesn’t mean arrogance or acting above people. It means recognizing that not everyone has the same level of patience, understanding, or discipline — and choosing not to respond with anger, ego, or violence.

Islam is not street code.
Islam is not proving how tough you are.
That mentality gets left outside the masjid.

Too often, we go harder on Muslims than we do on non-Muslims.
We’re patient outside… but explosive with our own brothers and sisters.

So the question was asked:

Where is the rujūlah (manhood)?
Where is the courage?
Where is the good character?

Because real strength is restraint.

The Prophet ﷺ showed us this at Ṭā’if.
He went there to call people to Allah — not for business, leisure, or status. And he was rejected, mocked, and stoned until he bled.

Yet his response wasn’t revenge.

When the Angel offered to crush the people of Ṭā’if between the mountains, the Prophet ﷺ refused and said:

“Perhaps Allah will bring from their descendants people who worship Allah alone.”
(Sahih Bukhari & Muslim)

That is mercy.
That is patience.
That is prophetic character.

The Prophet ﷺ didn’t let pain harden his heart.
And neither should we.

Forgiveness is not weakness.
It’s courage under control.
