Call to Worship
Leader: God’s Word tells us that love is patient and kind.
People: It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.
Leader: Love does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it
is not easily angered.
People: It keeps no record of wrongs. It does not delight in
evil, but rejoices with the truth.
Leader: Love always protects, always trusts, always hopes,
always perseveres.
People: Love never fails. Praise be to God who loves us
eternally, right here and right now. AMEN
Hymn 408 "The Gift of Love"
Opening Prayer/Confession/Assurance of Pardon
Lord God, we confess that often our love feels
shallow. We act out of love, but then expect
something in return. We are impatient. We envy.
We boast. We are slow to forgive. Fill us with your
Holy Spirit. Open our hearts again to your love, so
that we are filled with your joy. Give us the heart
and soul to pour out your love on others.

O holy child of God
Believe in your heart that you're meant to live a life full of
passion, purpose, magic and miracles.
Roy T. Bennett
Be the flame, not the moth.
Giacomo Casanova
Passion has little to do with euphoria, and everything to
do with patience. It is not about feeling good. It is about
endurance. Like patience, passion comes from the same
Latin root: pati. It does not mean to flow with exuberance.
It means to suffer.
Mark Z. Danielewski
I'm not in search of sanctity, sacredness or purity. These
things are found after this life, not in this life. In this life I
search to be completely human: to feel, to give, to take,
to laugh, to get lost, to be found, to dance, to love - to be
so human.
