If you spend three hours scrolling through people telling you how to live, what to believe, and what you should care about, but barely give God ten minutes of your attention, that's worth thinking about.

The people you follow, the content you consume, and the opinions you trust are all shaping you.

And here's the crazy part: you don't have to agree with everything you watch for it to start influencing how you think.

Four years in, and we're just getting started! 🥹🎉 What started as a vision has grown into a community of imperfect people figuring out what it looks like to follow Jesus together. And honestly? That's worth celebrating.

We've shared a lot of Sundays, made a lot of memories, and seen God show up in so many ways along the way.

Now we're throwing a birthday party, and the whole city's invited! 🥳

What if the thing you keep calling “harmless” is actually shaping who you’re becoming? What has your heart gets your attention. What gets your attention gains influence. And what influences you starts shaping your outcomes.

So instead of only asking, “Is this bad?” try asking, “What is this training me to want?”

That question might change more than you think. 👀

Take a look at the people you spend the most time with, the conversations you have, and the things you watch when nobody's around.

Are those things bringing you closer to Jesus or pulling you further away?

We can't keep feeding ourselves negativity, gossip, and bitterness and expect our lives to produce peace, patience, and love.

👉🏾 Sunday at Hopeville isn’t about pretending to have life together. It’s about getting in the room, hearing truth that actually applies to real life, and growing with people who are trying to follow Jesus for real.

Some of us don’t have a peace problem... we have a priority problem. Jesus said to seek the kingdom first, but a lot of us give worry the first word, the most attention, and the best energy.

You can’t say you love Baltimore while staying disconnected from the people who live here. Loving a city is more than reposting local businesses, complaining about what’s wrong, or wearing the name on a T-shirt.

It looks like knowing your neighbors. Serving people who can’t do anything for you. Caring about streets beyond your own. Showing up when there’s no camera around.

Jesus didn’t love people from a safe distance, and neither should his followers.
