Today we were blessed by the visit of Felipe and Jenny, a Mexican family who visited a Lutheran church for the first time. We gathered to meditate on Matthew 9:9–13. Jesus called Matthew with the simple words, “Follow Me,” and He still calls sinners today. As the Great Physician, He comes to heal the wounds of sin, forgive us, and give us new life through His mercy. “I came not to call the righteous, but sinners.” (Matthew 9:13)

«No he venido a llamar a justos, sino a pecadores.» (Mateo 9:13

Today we were blessed to gather for Divine Service at Nazareth Lutheran Church as we remembered and celebrated the Holy Trinity: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

We reflected on our Lord Jesus Christ’s Great Commission (Matthew 28:18–20), considering how God calls each Christian to be His instrument, bearing witness to Christ through both words and deeds in the lives of our neighbors.

Following the service, we had the joy of participating at a table during the Bull and Shrimp event organized by our sister congregation, Saint James Evangelical Lutheran Church. We are deeply grateful for their generous support of the Hispanic mission work taking place here in Baltimore. May God continue to bless this partnership as we work together to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Today we celebrated Pentecost Sunday. We reflected on the great gift of the Holy Spirit, who strengthens our faith, guides us through God’s Word, and reminds us that in Christ we have forgiveness and eternal life. We also had the joy of welcoming Júlio as our visitor today. He came from Laurel to attend a Spanish Divine Service and shared his desire to continue worshiping in a confessional Lutheran church. We thank God for all those who seek to faithfully hear His Word.

Today we celebrated the 7th Sunday of Easter at Nazareth Lutheran Church. We reflected on John 17 for Service where Jesus lovingly prays for His disciples and for all believers, asking the Father to keep us united in truth and faith.
Then we had a Bible study, and last we enjoyed a beautiful time of fellowship with Venezuelan empanadas filled with flavors from Paraguay, Nicaragua, and Venezuela.

“Holy Father, keep them in your name… that they may be one.” — John 17:11

Today we celebrated the 6th Sunday of Easter and Mother’s Day with joy and thanksgiving to God. We reflected on the gift of motherhood through the eyes of God, continued our Adult Instruction Class, and rejoiced in the Gospel from John 14, where Jesus promises not to leave His people alone, but to send the Holy Spirit, the Comforter, to strengthen, guide, and remain with us in every moment of life.
Happy Mother’s Day to all the wonderful mothers and women who lovingly care for others every day. 🌷✝️

We thank God for this blessed weekend at Nazareth Lutheran Church: Friday with our first women’s gathering, a beautiful time of bible study, fellowship and growth in faith, and today celebrating the Fifth Sunday of Easter together.

We reflected on Christ, who reminds us that He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life (John 14:6), and on how God builds His Church through the service of pastors, deacons, and members, as living stones in His work (Acts of the Apostles 6:1–9; 01 Peter 2:2–10)

Today we celebrated Good Shepherd Sunday, remembering that Jesus is our faithful Shepherd who knows His sheep, guides them, and cares for them with His love and grace.

It was also a special joy to begin adult instruction classes with Fátima as she prepares to receive Holy Communion and continue growing in the Christian faith. Through God’s Word and teaching, we pray that she may be strengthened in faith and feel fully welcomed and connected as part of our church family.
We thank God for this beautiful step in her spiritual journey and ask for His blessings as we walk together in faith, learning, fellowship, and service.

Today, even though we were few in number at church due to the rainy morning and knowing that most of our members walk to attend we were blessed by the presence of Hélio with his son and Fátima. After the service, we enjoyed a beautiful afternoon sharing life experiences, a meal and our faith together. That special time thanks to the Holy Spirit moved Fátima to desire to begin adult instruction classes next Sunday.

Today we celebrate the Second Sunday of Easter.
We rejoiced with visitors from Puerto Rico, Mexico, Peru, Ecuador, Nicaragua, and Venezuela. Today we are reminded that Christ is with us even in the midst of our doubts. Just as He stood among His disciples behind closed doors, He continues to be present among us through His means of grace: His Word and His Sacraments given us his holy peace.

We gathered as brothers and sisters in Christ on Good Friday and Resurrection Sunday for Service, remembering His sacrifice on the cross and celebrating His victory over death. On Tuesday and Thursday, our ESL students also learned about what Jesus did each day of Holy Week. We give thanks to the Lord for a week full of blessings, fellowship, and faith.
Christ is risen!
