St. Matthias Episcopal Church Bishop Sutton decided to close St. Matthias Episcopal Church as of January 1, 2022. St. Matthias Church will have no more services as of that date. Rev.

Matthias Church is being merged with the Episcopal Church of the Messiah 5801 Harford Road Baltimore, MD 21214. Monique Ellison is Priest-in-Charge at both churches.

Our Beloved, Lois Johnson, has died. Here is information about her services and her obituary can be found in her obituary below:

Lois E. Johnson, age 89 of Forest Hill (formerly of Rosedale) passed away Thursday, March 24, 2022. Born in Baltimore to the late Wilburt Johnson, Sr. and Mary (Scott) Johnson; beloved twin sister of Ellen Berk of Forest Hill (formerly of Rosedale); loving aunt of Lois Berk and partner Richard Abraham of Lutherville and Donald Berk of Abingdon; dear great-aunt of Timothy Phelan and wife Kasey, Kathleen Berube and husband Matthew, Emma Berk and Colleen Berk. She is also survived by her great-great-nephew Cooper Berube. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her brother Wilburt Johnson, Jr. She was a long time, active member of St. Matthias Episcopal Church and will be lovingly missed by her family and friends

Family will receive friends on Monday, April 4, 2022 from 10:00-11:00 A.M. in St. Matthias Episcopal Church, 6400 Belair Rd, Baltimore. A Funeral Service officiated by Rev. Monique Ellison will follow at 11:00 A.M. Interment is private. A reception will be held in the church following the service. In lieu of flowers donations are to be directed to St. Matthias Episcopal Church.
