We join in the prayers for all those suffering from the Ebola outbreak, and for all those who are first responders, on medical teams, or who are caregivers. Together we pray: Lord in your mercy…

Join us in prayer for those affected by the Ebola outbreak in Democratic Republic of the Congo, Uganda and South Sudan.

With over 600 cases reported and over 200 suspected deaths so far, this strain of the virus, which has no vaccine, is rapidly spreading across a region already suffering from conflict and lack of healthcare access.

In response, Global Ministries' Global Health Unit is deploying an initial grant of $20,000 to the United Methodist East Congo Health Board to support critical frontline interventions in and around the 10 UMC health facilities in Ituri Province, DRC, including:
-Infection prevention and control, including the distribution of handwashing kits
-Provision of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe case management training for healthcare workers in the UMC health facilities
-Provision of essential medication to UMC health facilities in the region

Prayers for California tonight. For all fleeing and for all first responders and other helpers we pray: Lord in your mercy,

Join us in prayer for people in Simi Valley, California, who are currently evacuating due to the rapidly-spreading Sandy Fire.

The fire has burned over 720 acres since this morning, and strong winds in the area continue to put the greater area at risk.

We pray especially for the firefighters and first responders working quickly to contain the fire and assist those impacted.

UMCOR is prepared to support the California-Pacific Conference of the United Methodist Church in their response efforts to this disaster.

Thursday, May 7, 2026 is the National Day of Prayer. Please join us at 7 pm as we gather on the front steps of the Baldwinsville First UMC, just west of the Four Corners in Baldwinsville, NY. All members, friends, and community members are welcome in a spirit of prayer, peace, and community during the 250th anniversary of the United States.
