The annual Rummage Sale is a few weeks away! Drop off days are 9/30 and 10/1... until then, continue cleaning out those closets/ drawers/basements and box up those treasures - we're happy to take them!

With BNS, we had a special new school year kickoff and Blessing of the Backpacks along with honoring - in a child friendly way - what happened on 9/11, honoring that the helpers do what they do to help life be joyous and peacoefilled. We had room tours, donations of supplies, games, food trucks - and ice cream! Here's to a great year for our nursery school staff and students - and all who support it!

Every moment of September 11 is still fresh 25 years later. For the generations that follow, we honor that day by focusing on what unites us as a community, much in the spirit of what followed those tragic events. At Baldwinsville First United Methodist Church we will celebrate children and the start of the school year with food and games at 5:00 p.m. and a time of blessing at 6:00 p.m. If you are in the area, please join us (and bring your backpacks)!

In response to the catastrophic flash flooding that occurred along the Nepal-Tibet border on August 26, UMCOR is awarding a solidarity grant to support United Mission Nepal as they aid impacted communities in Dhading and Nuwakot districts with emergency food and non-food item (NFI) assistance. Alongside this grant, UMCOR is continuing to explore opportunities for further response through our partner networks and local assessments.

Please remain in prayer for these communities as the toll of this disaster continues to worsen. Authorities now report that at least 579 people have died and 1,924 people remain missing, with these numbers expected to grow as some areas remain inaccessible. Search and rescue teams are still working to reach communities cut off by the disaster, with damaged roads, landslides, and communications disruptions hindering relief operations and making it difficult to fully assess needs.

We lift up this call for prayer, presence, and continued accompaniment from the Rev. Jung Eun Grace Moon, general secretary of the Christian Conference of Asia, ecumenical partner of The United Methodist Church: “In this time of profound loss and suffering, may God’s comforting presence draw near to all those affected, embrace those who grieve, strengthen those who search and serve, shelter those who have lost their homes and kindle a light of hope amid the darkness.”

Join us in prayer for those impacted by devastating flash flooding along the border of Nepal and Tibet today. We pray especially for the families and loved ones of those who have died or remain missing, and for those who have lost their homes and livelihoods.

As first responders assist survivors and search for the missing, UMCOR stands ready to support the response efforts of United Mission Nepal and other partners in the region.

BFUMC's Snowball Mountain Challenge came to a close with a flurry of singing, dancing, and celebration. Thanks for a wonderful week of learning that we can do all things through Him who strengthens us!
