As our church continues to grow, we are following a timeless pattern for how God's household cares for its people. We are blessed that we are adding Fayte Honeycutt, Aaron Jenkins, and Dean English as deacons to our leadership team!
A Quick Look from the Past:
πThis isn't a new corporate strategy; itβs actually a beautiful, ancient tradition. When the Apostle Paul was writing letters to the very first churches (like in Philippians and 1 Timothy), he always gave a major shoutout to deacons. The word "deacon" originally comes from a Greek word that simply means "servant." Back then, as the church family got bigger, the pastors needed to focus on teaching, while deacons stepped up to handle the practical, hands-on careβmaking sure nobody felt left out or overlooked.
What This Means for Us Today:
π‘We often talk about how the church is a family, and in any healthy family, everyone has a part to play. Deacons are here to be the hands and feet of Jesus right in our community. They are stepping up to lead and serve as we move forward together.
Please join us in praying for our new deacons as they take on this vital role.
