Our mission at Morning Star Fresh Food Ministry is to feed families through the love and hope found in Jesus by fighting hunger and feeding souls. Absolutely!

We are a non-profit 501(c)(3), faith-based organization committed to feeding hungry children and families here in our very own community. These families range anywhere from fathers and mothers struggling to find work, working households fighting to make ends meet…to the disabled and the elderly. Best of all, we are not a government-co

ntrolled agency. So we have the freedom to do what needs to be done. We even have the freedom to pray. Can A Simple Box Of Food Really Change Lives? We're much more than just another food outreach. Our program is about feeding the body AND the soul because food is temporary...but salvation is eternal. That's why our monthly food distributions also include tools that help teach parents and their children the principles of love and hope found in Jesus. Fresh food opens their door. Love and hope opens their heart. We're Not Just Fighting The Problem With Food But Fresh Food! Food banks serve a great purpose. However, the food is usually NOT fresh. Morning Star delivers the highest quality fresh food products available... all at amazing savings. We offer an affordable solution that provides high-quality fresh meats, fruits and vegetables packaged in one convenient box. In fact, if you purchased these same quality fresh foods at your local supermarket, you'd easily pay as much as 15-35% more on your grocery bill. We're able to offer such great value by purchasing directly from local growers, shippers and packers who've partnered with us to fulfill our mission of helping children and families in need. This was delicious!

We used some local sweet potatoes and made a delicious dinner!

Cut the sweet potatoes in 1/2 long ways, rub with coconut oil or olive oil, add a little salt and pepper and put them face down on the sheet pan. Bake at 350 for about 40-45 min (or until golden and bubbling).

The week of Distrisbution Day, Jon goes around to all our farm partners and picks up pallets of produce!

Straight from the fields of Kern County to our warehouse to fill the boxes!

Our work begins before the sun rises on Distribution Day! Prepping to fill 550 boxes for families in need throughout Bakersfield and then we’ll pray over each one as they leave the warehouse!

Next time you head to the grocery story check out the farms your produce is coming from. It’s pretty fun to see how the Central Valley feeds the world.
