Pastor David Virgil McGee was born December 9, 1978 in Bakersfield, Ca. He is the oldest of his siblings. Elder David’s mother kept her vow to God and trained up her sons to love God, love family and love people. While growing up at Saints Memorial; Pastor David began playing the drums at the age of 4 years old. He was active in the Sunshine Band, Purity Class and the Music Ministry as the head dr
ummer. He has served the church as a Church Janitor, Sunday school and Y.P.W.W. teacher, Deacon, Minister, Elder and Assistant Pastor. On June 24, 2000, Pastor David married his longtime sweetheart; Regain Ann Watkins and to their union they became the proud parents of four wonderful children; Danielle, David Jr., Daylon and Darren. Lady Regina McGee is an Aspiring Missionary and she and their children are diligent workers at Saints Memorial. In December 2000; Pastor David felt the Lord was calling him to preach the Gospel. On January 1, 2001 at 12:30 a.m. during an annual Saints Memorial Candle Light Service; Dr. E.V. McGee asked the church family if anyone had a New Year’s Resolution. Elder David McGee stood up and resolved that he would answer the call of God to preach the Gospel. McGee confirmed that he knew God was calling him to Ministry but was waiting for him to accept the Call! After going through years of proof and growth, Elder David received his Ministerial License from the Churches of God in Christ on April 29, 2007. With continued faithful service Pastor David was ordained and received his Elder’s License under the ordination of Bishop Samuel L. Doyle; prelate of the California Valley Jurisdiction of the Churches of God in Christ on March 12, 2011. After 50 plus years serving as the Pastor of Saints Memorial, Dr. E.V. McGee announced on January 20, 2014 that he would be retiring and that with his blessings, he was going to bestow the pastoring to his grandson; Elder David McGee who for the past several years worked faithfully by his side. On February 19, 2014 Bishop Samuel Doyle appointed Pastor David McGee as Interim Pastor and on Sunday, April 27, 2014 Pastor David McGee was ordained the Pastor of Saints Memorial Church of God in Christ by the California Valley Jurisdiction prelate; Bishop Samuel L. Doyle. Pastor David McGee believes in what he was taught; to get your learning but keep your burning. In June 2006 he received his Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Phoenix. He is currently enrolled in Summit Bible College in which he will complete and receive is Master’s in Counseling & Theology. Pastor David is a visionary who believes that through God ALL things are POSSIBLE!! Pastor David Loves God, His Family and God’s People! He loves to spread the gospel to those who do not know Christ and help those in need. Pastor David strives to follow the example of Christ who loved and served.
