Bakersfield Community of Christ We proclaim Jesus Christ and promote communities of joy, hope, love, and peace. Our church services are at 11am at Ming's Cafe 1918 L Street. A meal is provided, at no cost, following the service to promote fellowship, friendships and relationship building.

We have been blessed by having Jenelle & Roger Walden and their two girls Malea & Riley from Tehachapi join our congregation the past two weeks. So wonderful to have the opportunity to get to know them.
In the month of February we will be having two guest speakers. On Sunday the 21st our speaker will be Evangelist Stan Hunt from the Fremont congregation. Stan will also be holding a class starting at 9:30 on "The Samaritan Woman".
On Sunday the 28th our speaker will be Elder Tricia Browne, she & her husband Bob will be coming down from Visalia to share with us.

On Sunday January 17 we all celebrated Betty Oldershaw's 90th birthday with a party at the home of Cathy & Janu Dave. We all appreciated the hard work that Cathy & Edith (& Don?) put in to making the party a success!

We had a Wonderful Thanksgiving Dinner following church on Sunday. We had 20 people in attendance. Next Sunday we will be continuing our study in preparation for World Conference. Then on Sunday December 6 we will have Evangelist Scott Giles as our guest speaker.

We value all people as Children of God and accept people for who and where they are. We have recently had visitors from the LGBT community and are looking forward to expanding our outreach in that area.

GALA received permission to put signage in the Temple pots, identifying our sponsorship of the plantings. The signs were placed by Charlie Robison and his granddaughter Anara.

We are very pleased to have had 3 new people attend in the past month, 2 of whom have returned to join us. We also had a wonderful time on August 13 when we all went out to dinner to celebrate Edna Kliewer's 93rd birthday. We had 17 people in attendance.

We have been studying and preparing for both the World and National Conferences. We are blessed to have 2 guest speakers this month. On February 10 we will have Karen Jensen here from Stockton, and on February 17 we will have Linda Walsh here from the Visalia congregation. Looking forward to being able to worship & fellowship with two Wonderful Sisters in Christ.

We gathered at the home of Cathy & Janu Dave last evening to celebrate Bill Robinson's 90th birthday. We had a wonderful time.

Today we have Mission Center President Ron Smith as a guest minister and will be going out to eat following the service.
