From Pastor Camilla-
Surgery Update.....
I am home and recovering. Thank you to every single person who prayed, who interceded, who supported our family.
Yesterday was a whirlwind. From the beginning, there were challenges, from not being able to get the IV in, to technology issues to OR equipment going out as I was ready for surgery, to a reaction to the anesthesia which caused intubation, to getting dropped between floors in the elevator due to an electrical problem. It was a doozy. But, God sent me the most amazing, caring and compassionate nurses, doctors, and hospital staff you can dream of. They were exceptional! The surgery took 5 ½ hrs and didn’t go as we hoped. The dr had to go in several ways to get to the part of my heart that is not functioning properly and was able to determine that the part that needs surgery is on the top backside of my heart and it was too dangerous to get to it. My heart is extremely weak and the dr made the hard decision to put my health above a life threatening problem. I will be on my heart meds for 3 months while they allow my heart to strengthen. My cardiologist is sending me to a specialist in LA who specializes in this type of procedure. I am so very thankful for my cardiologist and his wisdom and experience to fight for me, to fight for my well being, and to get me where I need to be.
I am sad and disappointed that it didn’t go as expected, however, I’m alive! I am home with my amazing family, recovering, processing and listening to Holy Spirit. I know that there is a lesson in all of this to learn and I am leaning in to the Father to hear His words. He has been in the middle of every single decision, curveball, and surprise for us.
I am so grateful to the hospital staff for being so top notch! They went above and beyond to care for me. Jim was able to be with me in pre and post op which eased my nerves more than anyone knows! And let’s just say, he was the talk of the staff. Everyone watched The Voice and voted for him, so that was a welcomed surprise for us.
For now, we wait. I need to rest a little longer so I can get to this new surgery and knock it outta the park. The Lord is so good and His plans and timing are perfect! ❤️
