"Why the Bible Calls Atheists 'Fools'" by Pastor Jim Vail; First Baptist Church of Baker, FL...
Do you ever wonder why atheists (anti-theists) sue Christians but not Muslims, Buddhists, etc? Why do atheists attack Christianity with venom, but not Islam? (Some people believe in Big Foot, but "non believers" don't go on the attack against "Big Foot believers".) It is because Jesus Christ is the true and living God and Savior; and they know, deep down in their souls, that they will have to answer to Him for their love for their sins and rebellion! They do not want the true and living God telling them what to do and how to live; and they do not want to give up being their own "god", because they hate God's Biblical standards of morality (and they have a deep love for their "pet" sins!) Many feel that God has let them down somehow, and blame Him for all their disappointments in life. Satan and human sinfulness are never mentioned or accused. In John 8:44-45 Jesus Christ states: “44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. 45 And because I tell you the truth, ye believe me not.” They refuse to surrender to Jesus Christ, (who took the punishment for their sins and arose from the dead three days later, and by doing so proved He loved them more than any human ever can). Sadly for them, our just and holy God MUST punish their sins some day because they rejected the fact that Jesus Christ took the punishment for their sins, over 2000 years ago. They are rejecting the sacrifice that He has already made. (Many attorneys, who are now serving in positions of national leadership in Washington DC, understand what "justice" means, but laugh and scoff at the uncompromising justice of God!) It's sad! He could forgive them and give them a whole new life and fresh start as Children of God. But instead, they will face the horrifying reality that they have been totally wrong in their atheism, and it will then be too late to receive God's mercy and forgiveness, and to escape Hell. They also are blind to the fact that their hate for Jesus Christ will probably be carried on by their dear, sweet little children...sending their children also into a Christless eternity some day in the future!! Galatians 6:7 reads: "Be not deceived, God is not mocked! Whatsoever a man sows, that shall he also reap!" As I have said before, “HELL IS A LONG TIME TO BE WRONG!!"
