Update from Chris Wassawa:

My greatest joy is preaching the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ, and being Used by God to fulfill his saving plan! The Bible is asking us these questions! How will they believe in him of whom they have not heard? And how will they hear without a preacher? (Romans 10:14-15).
Do you have any response for these questions?

I am overwhelmed by the way God is working in to people’s lives! Here in Uganda. One entire family, gave their lives to Christ after the gospel was preached to them. They have been moslems since their childhood as they said, but now Christ is the king of their lives. The old man called Abdul and his wife Mariam together with their daughters Sharifah and shifa, gladly received the word and accepted the gift of God, of Eternal life.

Meet Isa and Claire, a couple that God had just blessed with twins three months ago, and Prosy Claire’s sister. Isa has been a moslem and his father is a native “witch” doctor, living in the same community. Isa’s immediate neighbor behind his house is his father’s huge shrine, but this could not fail him to give his life to Christ. Finally the whole family also accepted christ.

The last family we met was for an old mama living with her six grand children, whose mother, her daughter-in-law died when she was giving birth to her last child who is five months now. The old woman is already a believer, but we encouraged her with God’s word and ended with prayer. Your prayers too are very vital for the old mama, the little ones and the new believers.
Blessings!

This grand mother was also encourged with the word. remaining with six children after the death of her doughter in law as she was giving birth to the last one who is now 5 months.

The gospel is never spread in vain.

There are days when the work feels hard, the needs seem overwhelming, and the fruit appears slow. But God's Word reminds us that our labor for Him is never wasted.
Every prayer prayed, every seed planted, every Bible given, every conversation about Christ, and every act of obedience matters in eternity.

Sometimes we don't get to see what God is doing beneath the surface, but He is always at work.

"Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord."
— 1 Corinthians 15:58

Today, be encouraged. Keep praying. Keep giving. Keep going. Keep sharing the gospel.
The seeds you sow today may become someone's salvation tomorrow.

🌍❤️ Because eternity is worth it.

Last week I was privileged to lead our team of eighteen (18) pastors training at BGM Masindi to Kamuli for a week long training program alongside the pastors there; It was the last term of the training calendar. We were glad to study Church History and Eschatology.

During that week (June 7 to June 12, 2026), as these pastors from Midwestern interacted with those from Eastern Uganda, a lot of encouragement was met. The ministry of the Gospel is surely powerful amidst challenges faced. It's interesting to know that challenges faced by church leaders in their service are similar everywhere.

As trainers, we were much empowered to discuss what the Lord has put in our hearts through our syllabus. It was wonderful to hear from the pastors how this training has been unlocking their desire to seek the truth in Christ. And how their lives were being transformed through every term of training with Breaking Ground Missions Uganda. Having completed the last term of training, we set our focus on graduating this team, recruiting a new team to join the training program, and starting the new training immediately. We are trusting God for sustenance of all BGM programs!

We bless the name of the Lord Jesus Christ

While headlines may focus on Ebola outbreaks and uncertainty, the work of the Gospel in Uganda continues. Our evangelism teams are still going out week after week, sharing the hope of Christ in villages, marketplaces, and homes. Churches are still being planted. Pastors are still being trained. Men, women, and children are still hearing the truth of God's Word—many for the very first time.

But this work comes at a great cost.
Those who profess faith in Christ often face intense opposition. Some are abandoned by their families. Others lose jobs, endure threats, or suffer persecution within their own communities. In certain areas, believers understand that following Jesus could cost them everything. Yet they continue to stand firm, believing that Christ is worth it.

The urgency of this moment cannot be overstated. The Gospel is advancing, but it is advancing through people who have counted the cost and chosen obedience anyway. While our brothers and sisters in Uganda risk rejection, persecution, and even death for the sake of Christ, many of us are simply being asked to give.

The need is not theoretical. There are villages still waiting to hear the Gospel, pastors still in need of biblical training, and new believers who need encouragement and discipleship. The opportunity before us is great, but so is the responsibility.

Your generosity does more than support an organization—it equips evangelists to reach unreached communities, strengthens local churches, provides sound biblical training for pastors, and helps ensure that the Gospel continues to move forward in places where darkness has long prevailed.

Ebola is not slowing down the spread of the Gospel. Fear is not stopping those who have been called to go. The question is whether those of us who have been entrusted with so much will faithfully partner in the work God is doing.

Across Uganda, there are people willing to risk everything for the name of Jesus. May we be willing to give sacrificially so they do not stand alone.

"How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard?" — Romans 10:14

According to Apostle Paul in Romans 1:16, he was not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, because it is the power of God for salvation to every one who believes.”

We are encouraged by Apostle, and compelled to do the same work he did, through Breaking Ground Missions Uganda.

Through our weekly evangelism programs, we were able to meet a number of people to whom we witnessed Christ, 31 took Christ as their personal savior, among those we met a married couple, that is
David and his wife Annet who have been faithfully married for approximately 40 years.

David had a problem with his ears, therefore his sense of hearing was not all that good. What amazed me was that even if the man’s ears were not functioning well, yet they were not born again, they stayed together in their marriage.

When we started preaching he called for his wife Annet to help clarify the message to him, because she knew how to communicate to him, for him to understand.

They asked us to write down all the scriptures we were reading such that they could continue reading them after our departure. Thank God, this couple gave their lives to Christ.

Like babies need their parents so closely, the new believers need a close attention, from the spiritually mature Christians, walk this new journey with them, please join us in prayer for their spiritual growth!
Blessings 🙏🙏🙏

Blackwood team has safely landed in Atlanta AND made it through the Homeland screening (Ebola)🙌🏼 They have had a wonderful trip full of fruit an we are excited to hear and share with you all (after we let them rest a little 😆)!!

Thank you all for praying for this trip and these men ; please continue to pray for them as they drive home and also in the coming days. We all know that the enemy comes after you even more when you're being used by the Lord; we need their testimony to spread and their flame to be fanned as the Lord continues to move both in and through them!
