PRAY FOR NAME

In many parts of NAME, the newly translated Word of God is being read and recorded by trained, local Christians verse-by-verse. Local church leaders benefit from these recordings. And as they are trained, they, in turn, teach others. This oral Word is being distributed using SD cards, giving people in low literacy society the ability to hear God’s Word in their own language. Many of these people are hearing for the first time.
Praise God that his Word is being made accessible in these areas. Ask God to anoint the teams and their work. Pray that He will bring many to believe and grow in faith.

Billy Graham shared about a visit with a young soldier paralyzed from a blast while serving in Korea. He said, “It was worth it if America is free!”

Around Memorial Day, people say: “Freedom isn’t free” as we honor those who have sacrificed their lives for our country. From the Revolutionary War, approximately 1,354,664 Americans have given their lives in service to our country. That’s a staggering number.

This Memorial Day, let’s be thankful for those who made the ultimate sacrifice. praying for their loved ones. Never forget and always appreciate their courage

Thank God for the men and women who fought for freedom and paid the price. Ask for comfort and strength for their families and friends.

PRAY FOR NORTH AFRICA AND THE MIDDLE EAST

Jews from all over the world are moving to Israel. Many problems exist for the Jews—from global anti-Semitism to divisions within their own numbers. Only three percent of Jewish people know Jesus as their Messiah. They live in a world that resonates with the Old Testament, but do not understand what God was telling them—that Jesus Christ is the Messiah. He has come and he will come again.
Pray for the Jewish people to recognize that Yeshua (Jesus) is the long-awaited Messiah.

Join Operation World and the Joshua Project in praying for Ethiopia today and tomorrow.

The nation struggles from a succession of social, political, and economic crises. The major ethnic groups (Amhara, Tigrinya, Oromo, Somali, Afar) are divided by geographic region, at the expense of unity. As a result, Ethiopia's stability is precarious. Corruption increased with economic growth, and a wide gap now exists between the few rich and many poor. Since 2020, civil conflict erased much recent progress. The Tigray region was subject to what many describe as genocide. While violence has somewhat halted, the crisis afflicted millions. Pray for peace and unity.

Through it all, the centuries old Ethiopian Orthodox Church Is surrounded by Islam. It is also being challenged by the growth of evangelical Christianity. Pray for God to bring new life to this ancient faith.

PRAY FOR NORTH AFRICA AND THE MIDDLE EAST

Some people who live in remote, isolated, or even closed areas of the world have still yet to hear the gospel. It sometimes seems impossible that the good news can pe*****te these barriers, but God is faithful. In the Horn of Africa, millions of people live in rural villages that are a half-day’s walk, or more, from the nearest paved road. There, the gospel is spread through written form, radio, solar-powered recording devices, cell phone memory cards, oral storytelling, and showings of the Jesus film. In Northern Africa, following the Arab Spring, some, but not all, closed countries have become open to the gospel. One country in particular is home to more than one million Arabs who have never heard the gospel and have no witness living among them. Recently, this country has opened its borders to outsiders so that they can come to give aid to their people who are hurting.
Pray that the gospel will continue to overcome physical barriers. Ask that many will go with a helping hand and words of truth to Northern African countries open to receiving help.
