What a joyful Christmas celebration with our friends at Matthew’s Place! 🎄❤️ Love Thy Neighbor was blessed to share good food, lots of laughter, and the magic of Santa stopping by to spread smiles and cheer. We are so thankful for the many blessings of this season—especially the blessing of community, friendship, and time spent together. Merry Christmas!

37 “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’

Blessed to have spent our ninth Thanksgiving with our friends in Albemarle this afternoon. Our hearts and lots of bellies are full. So very thankful for the hands and feet that show up and show so much love year after year.

On Sunday, Love Thy Neighbor – Stanly had the wonderful opportunity to share a Thanksgiving meal with the residents of Matthew’s Place. This community is so close to our hearts, and we are reminded each year how truly special this time together is.

We are especially thankful for the residents, and we feel blessed to have spent the past 9 years visiting with them, building friendships, sharing stories, and being part of each other’s lives.

Here’s to many more years of connection, community, and gratitude. Happy Thanksgiving to all!

All are invited to join Love Thy Neighbor - Stanly for An Evening of Thanks, Thursday, November 27 (Thanksgiving Day) beginning at 4 p.m. The meal is free and will include turkey, dressing, gravy, green beans, yams, roll, dessert and beverage and will be served in the fellowship hall of First Street United Methodist Church, located at 509 N. 1st Street, Albemarle. (The church is directly beside Stanly County Family YMCA.) The fellowship hall entrance will be marked. Feel free to share and come enjoy this time of fellowship and thanksgiving with your neighbors. ❤️

To say our 10th Annual Community Thanksgiving Meal was a success would be a gross understatement. This one was, by far, our biggest and best yet! We served nearly 250 meals to our friends and neighbors in Badin. We had more volunteers than we’ve ever had. The food was good but the fellowship was even better.

The best part of the day was being able to recognize John Westbrook for his contributions, not only to Love Thy Neighbor, but also to his community. We are so grateful and blessed to have served alongside Mr. Westbrook for all these years. We look forward to many more years serving together at the Westbrook Community Thanksgiving Dinner. ❤️
