Apparently, I came all the way to Italy to stare at broken things… and somehow I’m still thinking about Better Together. 😂🇮🇹

Walking through Pompeii and seeing all the things that have been broken, buried, cracked, and weathered by time has me thinking about our October 10th Better Together event.

Because broken doesn’t have to mean useless.
Sometimes broken things can become beautiful things.
Sometimes they can even become useful things. 😉

That’s exactly what we’ll be exploring through Kintsugi — the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with gold — and how it connects to our own lives, faith, and the Armor of God. We’ll have some creativity, some study, some learning, some fun… and probably a few laughs along the way.

And while I’m standing here on the Amalfi Coast thinking deep thoughts about broken things…I have ONE question:

WHY HAVEN’T SOME OF YOU SIGNED UP YET?!? 😂

Registration is OPEN in the church app for our fall Better Together event on October 10th! 💕🔨

This time, we’re getting a little creative—and a little destructive. 😂 You’ll use a hammer to break a small dish and then put the pieces back together using Kintsugi, the beautiful Japanese art of repairing broken pottery and highlighting the cracks rather than hiding them.

Along the way, we’ll be doing a study based on Priscilla Shirer’s Armor of God, sharing a meal of soup & salad, laughing A LOT, and enjoying some good old-fashioned fellowship.

And, of course, there’s no telling what kind of shenanigans Lucy & Ethel will get themselves into this year. 🤣 If you know, you know.

So come as you are—crafty, not crafty, creative, or convinced you have zero artistic ability. We promise there will be no judging… just fun, fellowship, food, and a reminder that God can take what feels broken and make something beautiful out of it. ❤️
