There is a parable told of a blind girl who hated herself because she was blind. In bitterness, She hated others too, except her loving boyfriend. He was always there for her. She told her boyfriend, “If I could only see the world, I would marry you.”

One day, a pair of eyes were on the donor list, and she qualified for an experimental eye surgery. When the bandages came off, she was able to see everything, including her boyfriend!

He asked her, “Now that you can see the world, will you marry me?”The girl looked at her boyfriend and for the first time, realized that he too was blind!

The sight of his closed eyelids shocked her. She hadn’t expected that. The thought of looking at them the rest of her life led her to refuse to marry him.

Her boyfriend left in tears and days later wrote her a note saying: “Take good care of your eyes, my dear, because before they were yours, they were mine.”

Always remember, 1 John 3:16 says, "This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us."

What a wonderful blessing Easter Sunday was! A record 948 in attendance and 9 decisions for Christ! A big thank you to everyone who worked so hard on the Service, the Lunch, and the Easter Egg Hunt. And especially I want to thank our God for providing such a beautiful day, and for giving us a reason to celebrate!

Don't forget these two things as we close out the year!

1. This Sunday we will only have one service at 11am! This will be a family service, meaning that there will not be any Kids Church available. However, there will be Nursery for 0-4 years old.

2. If you’re looking for a non-profit to support and donate to for your end of year giving, First Baptist Azle is a great one to consider!
