We finally got a picture today of our Board of Deacons. We appreciate all that they do in serving our church and congregation.

We observed Labor Day this Sunday as we looked at the work that our hands have done and continue to do. Apostle Paul wrote "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord." Find worshiping God regardless what your work entails. Pray as you wash dishes, volunteer to serve others, spread God's love to the people you touch in your job are all simple ways to worship God. Have a blessed Labor Day everyone. And remember to rest as God commands as well.

Join us this upcoming 15th Sunday after Pentecost, September 6. Worship begins at 11:00 as we look at our hands and to God's Word as to how we are to work for God. Our scripture lessons are: Genesis 2:1-3, Psalm 90:12-17 and Colossians 3:23-24. Pastor Lynn's message is entitled "The Work of Our Hands" on this Labor Day weekend. ALL are welcome.

We designated today's worship service as Rise Against Hunger Sunday. Our church has partnered with Community United Presbyterian Church in New Alexandria to host a Rise Against Hunger meal packaging event on October 3rd. Pastor Lynn led worship as we welcomed Event Manager David Maurer as our guest speaker and he shared his RAH food mission trip to Honduras. His message was based on 1 Thessalonians 5:16-22 and he blended God's Word throughout his presentation. Thank you David for sharing this wonderful ministry with us. We are looking forward to Oct. 3.

Please join us this upcoming 14th Sunday after Pentecost, August 30. We have designated it as Rise Against Hunger Sunday. Pastor Lynn will be leading worship as our Guest Speaker Rise Against Hunger Event Manager David Maurer delivers his message entitled "What's God's Plan for Me?" while he presents videos on RAH's work in Honduras. All of this is in preparation for our hands-on RAH mission event scheduled for Oct 3 in partnership with the Community United Presbyterian Church of New Alexandria. Come see how you can participate. It was so nice to have the support of PA State Representative Jill Cooper at our first Back to School Event.
