Did you know that when you are preplanning your final resting place there are two separate but complimentary components? The first is choosing where you will be laid to rest. The second is deciding on your funeral, the vigil, the Mass, and the committal. Reach out to one of our counselors to learn more about preplanning and everything it entails at dopccfh.org.

Our Story

Founded in 1969, Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery is dedicated to the service of the Catholic Church, and is therefore maintained with the same reverence given to a holy shrine. Every acre of our beautiful gardens and all of our buildings have been designed to help you experience a sense of worship and peace of mind. Our priority will always be the families we serve. Our 22,000-square-foot facility is located on the grounds of Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery at the corner of 99th Avenue and Thomas Road in Avondale, Arizona.

Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery also includes an outdoor mausoleum. With an annex interior in the shape of a cross and altar in front of stained glass windows, the mausoleum includes crypts and niches, as well as a glass niche room.

In addition to the cemetery at Holy Cross, this facility also includes one of the two funeral homes in the Phoenix area owned and operated by the Catholic Church. As a nonprofit ministry of the Church, we perform one of the seven Corporal Works of Mercy as witnessed by Jesus, which is to bury the dead. Our caring and professional staff will help guide your family in a way that honors the rich traditions and spiritual foundation of your Catholic faith. This includes the traditional Catholic funeral rites, which uphold our faith in the bodily resurrection and offers unique opportunities for remembrance, comfort and expressions of devotion.
