St. Margaret Mary Alacoque shared with the world the image and love of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

St. Margaret Mary experienced these visions of Jesus through most of her life, and believed they were normal. She would share these visions with her superiors and those in community but no one believed her. People told her she should eat better because she was delusional or an imposter.

The community’s confessor finally declared her visions were genuine and out of her visions and devotions we have the beauty of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

We continue to pray for our Holy Father!

The Holy See Press Office on Tuesday evening released a statement about Pope Leo’s surgery stating: “The intraoperative frozen-section examination confirmed the diagnosis of pulmonary adenocarcinoma [a type of non-small cell lung cancer], as suspected from the preoperative tests.”

The statement also said “the Holy Father was in the operating room for approximately three hours; the operation itself lasted approximately 90 minutes. The operation was successful, and there were no complications.”

“Following the operation, the pope awoke normally and, after a brief period of observation, returned to his room on the 10th floor.”

“Find God and you will find the meaning of your life.” - St. Carlo Acutis

Today we celebrate one of the newest saints in the Church who grew up with many of us. St. Carlo was born 1991 and lived his life fully devoted to Christ in the youthful life that he lived. Carlo loved to play video games such as Halo, Super Mario, and Pokemon and became a catechist who taught the faith and young age of 12. Carlo created a website at age 14 where he promoting volunteering for his parish in Milan, and later he used his coding skills to create a website which tracked every reported Eucharistic miracle in the world.

Carlo became very sick in 2006 and was diagnosed with parotitis and offered his sufferings for the Pope and the Church. Carlo died on October 12, 2006 at the age of 15. In 2012 his case for canonization was opened up to begin his way towards sainthood and just last September Carlo became Saint Carlo Acutis.

Saint Carlo is a patron for all young people, as he lived a life of virtue and was passionate about spreading the love of Jesus through the holy Eucharist. St. Carlo shows that even normal people with gifts and talents can use them for the glory of God.

Join us in praying for our Holy Father as he undergoes surgery

"This morning, the Holy Father announced he will undergo surgery for a lung nodule in the coming days. The bishops of the United States join with the faithful and all people of good will in praying for his good health. May the hand of Pope Leo's surgeons be guided by the divine physician Jesus Christ. Please find a moment today, as I will, to offer a prayer for Pope Leo and his care team." - Archbishop Paul S. Coakley, President, USCCB

Today we celebrate the Marian title, Our Lady of the Rosary. This feast dates back to the 16th century where Pope Pius V began a rosary campaign for the Christian armada at Lepanto which was outnumbered by the Turkish fleet. Instead of being overwhelmed by the Turkish soldiers, the army was victorious. The Pope then declared the first Sunday of October as the feast of Our Lady of Victory as the pope declared it was because of the intercession of the Blessed Mother who helped them win the war. Over time this feast was transferred to October 7th, renaming it to, Our Lady of the Rosary to remind the people of God how powerful the prayers of our Blessed Mother can be. October is the month of the rosary as well as we are encouraged to pray the prayer which our Blessed Mother gifted St. Dominic.

Take some time today to ponder with Mary, pray the rosary, and receive the gift of the rosary that she has given to us.
