WE FOUND A PLACE FOR THE THINGS YOU DON’T NEED!
Big Vern 2620 chestnut st Port Huron
Hey friends, I want to tell you about a great guy named Vern Rich.
I can’t say enough good things about Vern—and I should probably be nice to him because I’m pretty sure he could break my arm with one hand. 😂
But seriously, something has developed around Vern that reminds me a lot of how our clothing giveaways at the Huron House Halfway House Bible History Class started. Nobody really sat down and created a program. It just happened. People had things they didn’t need, other people needed those exact things, and somebody became the person who connected the two.
Vern has become that guy.
If you have something sitting around your house, garage, basement or shed that you might sell at a garage sale, give away, or eventually throw out, take it to Vern instead.
And I’m talking about just about anything—tools, household items, furniture, clothing, equipment, yard tools, and all those things we accumulate over the years and simply don’t use anymore.
Vern has become a great facilitator of getting those things into the hands of people who really need them. In fact, it’s grown to the point where people who need things have started finding him.
And Vern has made it incredibly simple:
You don’t have to call him.
You don’t have to make arrangements.
You don’t even have to catch him when he’s home.
Just bring the items to:
2620 Chestnut Street
Pull into the driveway, drop them off, and Vern will take it from there.
I did it myself when I started cleaning out my shed. I couldn’t believe how much stuff I had accumulated—old power tools that I didn’t even have batteries for anymore, yard equipment, and I swear I must have had 30 rakes!
I’ll tell you what—it felt great.
I suddenly had room in my shed, and instead of perfectly useful things ending up in the garbage or collecting dust for another ten years, they’re going to people who can actually use them.
So before you throw something away, leave it sitting in your garage for another five years, or spend an entire Saturday trying to get $5 for it at a garage sale, think about Vern Rich.
Something that means almost nothing to you anymore may mean an awful lot to somebody who needs it.
WE FOUND A PLACE FOR THE THINGS YOU DON’T NEED — AND THEY’LL FIND THEIR WAY TO PEOPLE WHO DO.
2620 Chestnut Street — just drop it off.
Thanks, Vern, for what you’re doing—and thanks for finally giving me enough room to walk through my shed again!
